Good morning fellow ECF'ers! After about a year of analog-free happiness, which has seen vaping go from a smoking cessation method to a hobby, I'm thinking about upgrading to the world of mods. To this point, I've mainly used stick batts and EGOs, and dabbled in a few things slightly more advanced like a 5-click VV from Vape Dojo and Vapor4Life's Auto Dial-a-Volt and Zeus (which they were kind enough to send me for review on my blog). In terms of vessels, I'm not a big fan of cartomizers and usually stick to clearos like the CE3 (syringe-fill), Vivi Nova and MT3.

In terms of specs, it doesn't need to be anything too fancy, but variable voltage and replaceable batteries would be nice. I'm not ready for a mechanical just yet (eventually). In terms of budget, I'd like to stay within or below the $50 - $75 range, but the number of options is a little overwhelming. I've been looking at the lavatube, bolt, gripper / handle, vamo, evic and tesla, but would love some recommendations on these or any others that might be good for a semi-noob.

thanks in advance!

I've been real happy with my VAMO. I have a Lavatube that I'd used for a year before that which also worked well. With the summer coming on I wanted something smaller for the pocket and just picked up an L-Rider Robust from my local vendor, Vapoligy. (website also) It's VV but uses 14500 batteries which don't last nearly as long as the 18650s. But for a short trip out it should be fine.
As for the Lavatube and VAMO I would recommend either one. I like the VAMO because you can also set it for watts, as well as voltage. It is a big beast though. I got it at Healthcabin. In China, but shipped very quickly and was the cheapest price at the time. And I'd heard good things about their service too.
Ain't these decisions hard? Good luck.
