If I'd looked longer at layout it would have been sleeker as there is just enough space to have the USB circuit along the central axis (side on) to completely hide the connection inside the body.
Not too worried though as it was my very first attempt and it's all about learning from experience.
For those of us just getting started, a parts list with suppliers would be great. I've had a hard time finding appropriate boxes for 18650 batteries in particular. That one looks nice.

I know what you mean, I got everything from eBay as it happens - you just need to persevere with the searches trying different wording until you find what you want.
The particularly fine box was suggested by a member on another forum when I was asking about the feasibility of two 18650's in parallel which can be found on ebay also use search term "18650 battery case 2 x parallel connection DIY case".
Many of the parts came from china which meant a bit of a wait - but I think it was worth it for such a beast !
Edit: Put a mostly complete parts list on the blog.
Nice job and the case is a perfect fit for what you were aiming to do. Be sure and share how you'll polish it up because everyone who's built a plastic case mod has let the grinder get away from them and ding the box. Polishing would be a mistake eraser.....
