I have been reading 100's of posts over the last 3 months. Such a wealth of info here.
A BIG Thank you to all that have mad the mistakes before me, and gave me the tools to use in my own mods.

Four 510's and 2 801's so far...#1 was sacrificed to #6, #2 and #3 (2xAA boxes w/two 14500s) in service and used daily, #4 is my 5V box, #5 (using a 1AA box, an old AC adapter, and an 801 atty) is my PT, and #6 is a 2xAA box for an 801.

As soon as my CR2 batts arrive from China, I'm all over the flashlights, though! Don't know WTH I'm going to do with them all, but I'm all over 'em anyway! :D

Now if our friend, the OP, would just chime in and tell me what he used for the top of his FL (because that's the only issue I haven't resolved for the FLs yet).............

I used copper washers on all of my flashlights - find one with an ID slightly larger than that of a connector (8.7mm), and an OD slighter larger than that of your flashlight. buy a bolt that will fit through the center and two nuts, then tighten them down and chuck it into a grill. Grind the washer down on your choice of abrasive until it will need to be pressfit into the flashlight. Let it cool down, remove the bolt and nuts, and then sweatsolder your connector into the center of it. Wire everything up, pressfit the new connector washer into the flashlight using a socket (18mm deep socket, iirc) and a hammer. Viola, flashlight with an extremely sturdy connector and a great ground connection. Run a bead of JBweld around the lip to make sure it doesn't come out later and you're done.

i found some steel FENDER/BODY WASHERS at LOWES in the specitalty fastener tool boxes... the OD of the washer is maybe 1/8" too larger and the ID of the hole in the washer is also about 1/8" too small...
the easy way i have found to fix these size issues is put washers on phillips screwdriver turn on grinding wheel and let them spin as they grind keeping an almost perfect circle with minimum effort...

as for the inner hole of the wahser you could drill with the proper size drillbit, but i use my dremmel on high while holding washer still, i continually rotate dremmel around the inside hole....

when grinding or dremmeling stop and check sizes often unless you want to use alot of JB Weld:D

maybe that will help someone

edit:: did i say my damn fingers are sore as heck? well they are!
but not as bad as before i figured out that wahsers spin on a round screwdriver shaft as a grinding wheel spins and grinds them at the same time..

Sorry after posting I hit the sack,

I work with electronics so we had a bunch of ferrite cores and rounds laying around the blue one fits the 510's connector perfectly.

They might not be that easy to find at any local stores but you could buy a few hundred from digikey LOL

anyhoo, The switches were the most difficult part. The ratings are to low on most. But I got to tell ya that another of my mods is using 5v and 1.72amps and the switch is rated for 500mA so it seams like they could handle more than they say. I'm going on 1.5 months of vaping with that guy.
