Hi all. Tonight was the first time I'd taken my e-cig to a smoking pub. (Yes, we can still smoke in bars in Virginia). At any rate, I was happily vaping away...not even thinking about the e-cig and how odd it might look. Finally, some guy comes up to me and says..."Can I ask what that is?" I explained it and he said..."I was so confused...it didn't look like a cigarette, but you were smoking it, then I watched you use it to tap your palm pilot and I just really had to ask...."

LOL. I do use it as a stylus on my palm pilot..but didn't realize it.

puff...puff...tap...tap....

Good for you, nice to see some open minds.

I have my local pub which I use Monday to Friday after work for a couple of beers; I did ask whether I could use my e-cig and gave the extremely curious landlord a couple of draws on mine. He seemed impressed; however the end result was that it could raise too many eyebrows amongst the anti-live and let live brigade and the answer was no!

Pis**** me off really because if half of them smelled as good as my juice I'd be a lot happier.

Hi all,

I've smoked it in my local pub, anda golf club at a wedding reception without a problem.

In both cases I explained to the staff what it was, taking it apart showing them the liquid etc. and had no problems.

Also sneakily had a few puffs in a restaurant last night.

Overall I have had good experiences, even my wife lets me smoke it in the car with her next to me which would never happen with analogues.

I find that its largely a case of educating people.

Well i have just finished a long week of Christmas parties, first was a wedding, i was a little worried about E smoking in front of everyone so went outside with the smelly smokers (love the fact i can call them that now), got stuck explaining to a group of people about what they are. After a few drinks i didnt care and smoked inside the hall, my partner said i was getting funny looks but no one came over. The second was my works xmas party, most people at work know i E smoke but those who didnt insisted i get it out and show them, all the smokers had a go, a few people who dont smoke had ago and lets say my E cig went missing for 2 hours and i wrote down the web site where i got it from about 20 times. Its strange but so far I have not had that many strangers come over and ask, no bar staff has mentioned it either.... Wonder why !

I vaped in a local bar without trouble... in fact I became the center of attention and had to do the whole "show" for the folks. I tried it at a comedy club - explained it to the server and broke it down for her inspection, but she said if people saw me exhaling anything it could be trouble and she forbade it. *sigh*

I have generaly been vaping everywhere I go. At one of the venues I do a lot of work at (photographing horse shows) I just went into the office, told them if anybody reported me for smoking it wasnt a real cigerette and it wasnt breaking the law. I puffed away all through the last event there which went on for 5 days. Everytime I came out of the arena sombody from the audiance enquired what I was smoking (a screwdriver). It turns out there was a lot of discussion in the audiance to what I was doing but no objections or complaints from anybody.I was invited out for a meal on friday night and I was far more discrete but generaly just kept the cravings at bay. Same on saturday when working at a charity dinner. Generaly wondering around shops etc I forget myself and take a puffs in the most odd places. In a cafe I found myself looking over the food counter contemplating what to order whilst vaping. It was busy but nobody seemed to notice. All the people who have traveled with me in the car say they hardly notice. A close friend who I do a lot of work for suffers from ashma and endless allergies. She can normaly only spend an hour with me even when I am not smoking. She was here for 4 hours last week and I vaped continualy which she didn't mind at all. I sold an e-cig to the barman in the only bar I have been in lately and seeing he was stood at the edge of the bar smoking it all night it didnt seem to matter if I did the same.
There are always people having a go so I carry a spare 901 and set of fresh carts with me for them to have a go on..

The Black 901 with the blue LED is the ticket. I have vaped at 2 Xmas parties as well as my local pub where there is no smoking. I am discrete as to not upset smokers that have to go outside. I don't want any cries of "He's Smoking!" to piss off the publican. Really the black 901 with the blue LED doesn't look anything like a standard smoke and if I watch my exhale...
