Hi All

Been vaping now for 13 months but up until now have been using tanks like the Kanger and Nautilus, but just built my first atty after reading up on the relevant threads. I have to say its a brilliant forum with so much info and gave me the courage to do my own.

My question is, when you drip is it wise to drop the nicotine level? I have a 0.73 ohm and using the Atty on a Sigelei 30W at 16W. My juice is "MustVape, Handlebar" and normally on the Nautilus mini, I take a lung hit at 12W and enjoy. This set-up though hits me so hard, is it just me not used to the extra hit, or is 12mg too strong with the set-up I have? Flavours incredible. I am using a Tobh Atty V3. I have closed one of the holes off, but still hits too hard and gets me coughing. It may be the pineapple flavouring with Handlebar. Just wondered if anyone has any advise?

I have to say too, its great building your own coils and first one is wicked, even if a little to hard hitting :)

Jonny, I primarily use Kayfun Lites with 12mg juices from multiple vendors, and do mouth to lung hits. When I got my Magma drippers, I tried to lung hit them wide open with a .8ohm dual-coil thinking that the added air flow would be enough for me to be able to do that. Bad idea!!

Once I was done with my coughing fit, I ordered up 6mg and 3mg juices with 100%VG. I couldn't even manage lung hits at 6mg and have settled on using the 3mg juices with my drippers. No issues at 3mg. Smooth fluffy plumes of dense vapor. :)

As with most vaping stuff, your mileage may vary.

Welcome to ECF!!

Hi their. If it's hitting you a little hard or harshly you can try dropping your wattage down a little bit to see if you get a smoother hit. As far as nicotine levels, that's something only you can decide. I will drip 24mg nicotine and it does not bother me a bit. But if your getting light headed or dizzy then I would say yes, cut the nicotine back but if it's just a matter of harshness dropping the watts might help. You might also consider increasing the vg and decreasing pg levels, this will help with harshness as well. Hope this is helpful. Best wishes

Dusty, whats the Magma like? I just ordered one to try out and looking forward to getting it. My understanding is that its great in terms of flavour.

I started off with a vision spinner v2 and an aspire et s, was vaping 18-24mg. Sometimes I felt that wasn't enough nic. Once I graduated to rebuilding I tried the 24 on my RDA. Bad. Idea.
Tried the 18, better but still waaay too much. 12, much better, still a bit harsh, but dealt until I got 6mg. Finally, the perfect amount for me on an RDA.

But in reality, it depends on your preference and tolerance level. What could be good for me, may not work for you. Personally I would get the smallest sized bottles of a few dosages to see what you like, instead of going all out and having bottles and bottles of juices you can't use. *cough*

Thanks for the advice I really appreciate it. Yes I think I'll need some juices with a little lower than 12mg. Though I have some Alice In Vapeland and that tends to hit less hard, or so I hope. But great advice, i'll try lower wattage for the moment until I get some 6mg or even 3. I like a good lung hit but this was pretty heavy:)
My max in 6mg in RDA, specially with rayon wick !!

You will get sick vaping 12mg in a dripper especially if running sub ohm coils and high wattage. You will find that 3-6mg with a dripper/sub-ohm coils/high wattage mod will give you the same or more of a nic buzz than the 18mg through a Kayfun. When I started vaping I used 30mg to get me off cigarettes using kanger clearos and then switched to 18mg in a Kayfun. When I went to drippers (I only drip, no tanks for me!) I couldn't take anything more than 6mg. The difference is that you inhale much more vapor than you would from any other device. With Kayfuns I went through about 4-5ml a day. Dripping with a high wattage box mod I easily go through 10ml a day and on days I'm not at work or I am sampling my DIY mixes I can go through 20ml+.

I have a Magma, CLT and TOBH. I find the CLT is the best all around Atty for me and seems to have the same or better flavor than the Magma. Maybe I'm building the magma wrong. This is with 0.4 ohm coils on a 50w box mod using Japanese cotton for the wicks. I tend to vape between 20-30W depending on the juice (I vape high VG mixes).

I have a Reo Grand with a Trident V2 built at .32 ohms. Accounting for voltage drop, it pushes somewhere around 40 watts, and I vape 12 mg nicotine. Depending on if you have an empty stomach or not, it can majorly knock you on your ..... For the most part, I do just fine with it. That said, I'm thinking about dropping to 6 mg
