My first (real) mod

Not an extreme mod, but it certainly makes my setup more efficient. Basically all I did was cut down a USB plug and attach it to a passthrough with the cable cut short, which I then plug into my USB battery pack. Sealed it all up with hot glue - not the prettiest, but it works.

No more useless long cable (removing it reduces resistance and gives it a little more power), and it's very thin and easy to hold. The battery pack charges through USB, and I can use it while it recharges! The battery even has a handy level meter (that's what the button is for). It's still completely removable and usable as a passthrough with a USB extension cord. Now I just need to figure out a better way to hold it to the battery - that tape isn't the most secure or most functional way to do it. I'll probably try finding a way to cover the USB plug and cord as well to pretty it up.

Next I'm going to build a flashlight mod, but I'm going to change it up a bit from the norm - my goal will be to leave the vacuum switch intact.

Puts out 5v at 1.5A and has 1800 mAh. Definitely not the cheapest, but it works like a charm and it's nice and thin. It even comes with an AC-to-USB power adapter, but it has to because the only way to charge it is through the mini-USB "in" port.

Wow, after using it a bit - cutting that cord GREATLY increases the vapor production. This passthrough is vaping a lot heavier than it ever did before I cut the cord! It's a real juice hog now.

Has anybody else cut the cord and found it to work much better? I'm wondering if the circuit in the passthrough takes the extra resistance of the cable into account.

It's probably not that complex. Does anyone know for sure?

After using this for awhile, I went ahead and glued the passthrough directly to the battery pack (the tape didn't hold very well). I never use either one seperately, so I figured what the hell.

yeah.cutting the cord will help a bit...just not sure how much.

I think I'm gunna build me one of these!!!
