Hi all,

Talk about an abundance of information and nice folks. :) Quite impressive. I'm pretty close to pulling the trigger so I would appreciate some confirmation and help. This will be my out and about device. I'm about to purchase:

Reo mini 2.1
reomizer 2.0 rba
Black Delrin Button Cover

I think the above should get me started? Any idea or thoughts if the mother ship plans to upgrade this device in some fashion? Maybe the magnets, the switch, the spring, or anything else as I'm not sure? If an upgrade is comming, would the upgrades be sold in kit form so mere mortals like me can perform the upgrades/install?

No offence intended by the next question please but when it comes to an out and about device, I have zero tolerance for leaks. Any thoughts on this issue with respect to what I plan to purchase?

Thanks in advance for your help and please don't be reluctant to offer any other words of wisdom.

:)

New contacts will be coming out very soon for the Mini. If I were you I would wait just a bit. There will be a kit for sale to update the older Grands and Mini 2. The parts should be in any day now and Reomods will be selling their Grands and Minis with the newer contacts and springs installed. When you do order its good to order an extra spring and a screw or two for the RM2 posts.

As far as leaking I've used mine for years and it doesn't leak. It can leak if there are big pressure differences as in an airplane, or a big change in altitude. It can also leak if you over squonk then pocket it or place it upside down. As a general rule with some good common sense the setup is pretty leak proof. Leaving it in a hot car where temps can climb a lot could also cause leaking. THicker vg juice lessens that.

I think the above should get me started? I'd also purchase a spare spring, just in case. And if you're going to build your own coils/wicks, an ohm meter is a must have. Any idea or thoughts if the mother ship plans to upgrade this device in some fashion? The subohm kit will be available very shortly, you might want to wait for that. Once that's in, all the REOs will be subohm capable. Maybe the magnets, the switch, the spring, or anything else as I'm not sure? If an upgrade is comming, would the upgrades be sold in kit form so mere mortals like me can perform the upgrades/install? Yes the upgrades will be available as a DIY kit.

I've used REOs since 2011 and have never had a leak. Generally, when folks have leaks, it's either a damaged REO they got used, or they are over squonking (feeding juice to the atty).

Responses in RED above. Words of wisdom? Don't scrimp on the batteries. Get the AW IMR 1600 mAH ones Robert recommends. Using "whatever you have laying around" batteries, is like putting concrete tires on your new Ferrari. I'm confident you'll wonder why you waited so long to get the REO, and will shortly want another as a backup. Pics are mandatory when you receive it, if you want the badge and special serenade :)

I look forward to the badge and special serenade :) Perhaps you can throw in the secret handshake? /LOL

Great thoughts. I'm going to wait as you advised for the Mini upgrades. No rush for me, I've got enough gear for three lifetimes. :)

I subscribed to this thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...dates-sales-information-most-recent-info.html

Am I correct in assuming that the soon to be released upgrades would be posted in the above thread? If anyone else has any words of wisdom please fire (pun intended) away.

You are making a wise choice choosing the REO. I've had almost every mod ever created and now, my vape arsenal consists of a REO Grand with RM2. That's all I own. No backups. I need nothing else.

I think waiting just a little longer for your first REO is a great idea!

Here is the thread where Robert announced the upgrades. It has been a long journey and I am sure you will find posted there when they are available:

+1 on everything above. Spot on responses. Almost like I typed them myself and could speak clearly and not say bro 12 times :)

I'd throw one little curve in there though:

A mini is tiny. A grand is only slightly larger. But the little bit of extra room inside to access fill the bottle, the ease of filling the larger capacity and larger mouth bottle combined with an 18650 battery put it over the top.

Either way you'll be rockin. Hard. I started with minis and thought they were the shizz. They were. But once I got my grand there was no returning to minis for this hombre :)

Here's some pix of my grands :)

agreed with the above, snag a grand, low profile would be the best bet imo, because then the possibilities are limitless... but then...

i would like to share, i have had some leaks, but that is only from over squonking and being carried in my shoulder pocket while in unifrorm doing military stuffs... so it gets quite a bit of moving around up there... for the most part though when its dry its good... it doesnt leak much, just ever so slightly, but it gets a little more movement from me... so my leaking is not common...

Hey SXD, does it work any better with the coil between the posts versus on the side near the air hole?

Sent from my GT-N8013 using Tapatalk

That's gonna depend on the RBA. That particular RBA (chalice) is designed for that kind of build. It doesn't like a side post build. It vapes like a beast but is slightly more challenging to mount the coil.

Cyclones and RM2s prefer or require side post builds but can be built to vape as good as that one with the center build.

The one with the center build really shines in the feed / drain department :).

Understood.......makes sense, the build that looks the best (to my eyes) is on a damn atty I really shouldn't buy as it's quite costly. In your opinion, it the Chalice really worth it's weight (dollar for dollar) in comparison to the RM2 or other similar toppers?

Considering you can get just as good a vape from an RM2, it's really gonna come down to what matters to you.

Materials? Build quality? Rare? Aesthetics?

If those matter, you have the disposable cash and you can find one, I'd say yes.

Also knowing you could prolly sell it immediately if you decide it's not is assuring. :)
