You're making a great choice giving up the smokes. Do you want a vaporizer that looks like a cigarette or are you open to something a little larger and less cigarette looking? In my opinion the non-lookalike devices perform far better.

Will go for the non-lookalike. So at least dun look like my holding a cig in between my fingers all the time!

We would need to know more about your smoking habits and desires to make a good recommendation. Some things to consider are do you want it to look more like a cig or would you prefer longer battery life.

The one thing I can say though is once you decide on your hardware to order a bunch of different sample packs of juice so you can see what you like the best.

Ignore the superminis. People who buy superminis are usually satisfied for no more than 3 weeks then buy something else.

The most popular and well-supported choices;

Smallest I recommend are slim minis Joye 510 manual (available many places( and KR808D-1 manual (like Vapor4Life or Smokeless Image Volt which only has some colors in manual). Most people here use and recommend manual batteries. Easier to get a good hit, less likely to be damaged or killed by the occasional juice leak. These both come in approx 180mah and 280mah sizes (the Volt claims a bit higher). 100mah is about 1 hour of moderate vaping. If you use slim minis you may need to either carry extra charged batteries, have a charger at work, have a PCC for charging away from AC (I do all three).

The next step up is to fat battery models and the two most popular are Joye Ego and Riva 510 - see Liberty-Flights.com and press the 20% in upper left front page before shopping (will lower the shown prices to 20% less). These have a charge life of 650mah and higher, and the option to use hotter low resistance atomizers and cartomizers

Oh - you are from Singapore. Ignore the shops I listed. Get 5 non-spammed non-sequential posts or replies in New Members, then an hour later you should be able to post elsewhere including the Singapore forum (it's a social group so you may need to message someone to be admitted - I am not sure)

From a fairly new vaper experience, all i can say is...if you want to quit smoking, this is one of the easiest ways to go. Just don't fret or get frustrated if the first hardware setup you try doesn't totally satisfy you, though that doesn't mean it shouldn't. It usually takes a bit of fiddling to find the setup you like, and a bit more to find the juice that will make you wonder why haven't you tried vaping sooner :laugh:

It's totally worth it though.

Welcome to all the new members joining in here. The best unilateral advise I can offer to anyone is be prepared to experiment. To each his own definitely applies to vaping as everyone has different tastes and needs and there is no one size fits all solution. There are many good starting points and the best one is the one that will work for you. If what you start with isn't working than try something different until you find your comfort spot.

Order some sample pack of juices so you can try different ones out. If you don't like one set it aside for a while as you may end up liking it later. Many of the higher quality hand mixed juices need to steep for a while before achieving their full flavor. Also as you body recovers from smoking you will find your sense of taste and smell returning. So be prepared as what you like to start will likely change after a while.

Read all you can in these forums and especially the library section so you can make informed decisions. There are also a lot of great reviews and tutorial on YouTube. Google is your friend!

Also make sure you have back-up supplies and don't wait until the last minute to restock. Batts, chargers, attys and cartos all fail so you want to be prepared. Few things have sucked more than when I had to go back on analogs for a few days because I ran out of juice.

Congratulations on your decision to quit smoking. Lots of great advice here. When I first started, I didn't order enough juice and though I didn't smoke, I sweated it for a day until the mailman came. Don't give yourself an excuse to have analogs - be prepared with batteries, chargers, attys, juice, etc. I really liked Puffladders advice on being prepared to experiment to find your comfort spot. There are going to be days when things don't seem to work well - nothing tastes right, can't get a good hit, etc. Don't give up - keep plugging away and post. Your bad days will become fewer. Keep reading here...you'll find lots of answers to your questions and/or problems. Also, you will gain continuous support during your vaping journey.
