I gotta agree it's sad when the kids want you to quit. 40 years plus a little smoking and 1 month today on vaping. I'm pretty pleased so far. Haven't had the money to get all I want. Bought a 510 locally to stop having to use disposables and, got a blu kit as a gift. Honestly between them both I'm doing ok and I can refill the blu carto's and come out pretty good price wise. Glad to be analog free at this time and here on the forum.

Well old soldier.... I accidentally quit lol. Smoking was coming under some pressure at work, and while I hadn't felt too much heat yet, I figured I would give one of these disposable e-cigs a try. The first was so so (21 century), the next wasn't too bad. It was a mislabeled Blu (labeled as tobacco... was coffee). I noticed I dropped from 1 1/2 packs a day to 4 cigs a day without trying. so I figured wth why not quit. lol

Another "accidental quitter" here. Or, at least on the way. Still keeping a pack of Marlboros on hand, and not feeling a bit guilty about it.

You need to go into this with the right attitude. This may sound bass ackwards, but I'm of the opinion that if you want to successfully quit smoking, you absolutely must give yourself permission to smoke guilt free. Let me explain....

For around 27 years I smoked 2 packs a day (sometimes more). That's 40 cigarettes. Yesterday I smoked 6.

If I focus on the 6 that I smoked, that produces an attitude of failure, which will eventually lead to "Ah, screw it, this isn't working".

However, by focusing on the 34 that I didn't smoke, that's a major win, and makes it simple to maintain a positive attitude and motivation to keep going.

Same exact events, two ways of looking at them, with two greatly different likely outcomes.

Plus, in the past if I ran out of smokes I would have a nearly full blown panic attack. Everything got put on hold while I ran to the store to buy smokes (and on one occasion walked just over a mile in a blizzard to get some). Yet on many, many occasions once I got back home I'd go to light up an hour or two later and realize that the pack of cigarettes that I was so desperate to have in my possession was still sitting unopened. The knowledge that I had none available produced some of the strongest cravings I've ever experienced, but once comforted by having them close by I didn't actually smoke one for a good length of time, without even thinking about it.

Again, sounds backwards, but I have a much easier time not smoking when I have a pack close at hand.

tobacco is physically addictive, and powerfully so. But the mental game is equally, if not more, important.

From the old chimerical ( I would walk a mile for a Camel). I was like that most of my life. Tried to quit smoking so many times just to end up smoking more than I did before. I tried chewing tobacco, snuff, and just about everything else. Finally tried ecigs and the first ones I tried were terrible. Truck stops type brands.
Since then I have evolved into a KGo and starting to try DIY and have found my sweet spot...
I have been able to get my wife 60% free of analogs and son about 80% free.

Accidental quitter here too. I'd been thinking of quitting for a while, but didn't actively pursue it. My BFF got an eGo-T. I tried it a little figuring it would do nothing for me. Well, I got my own the next day and haven't had an analog in 4 weeks today. I kept a pack of cigarettes around for a couple of weeks, but never touched them. Not sure what happened to them, but hadn't thought about them until posting this.

E cigs for me sure made it pretty easy to almost cut out smoking completly. I can go days without smoking now.
As for finding something that tastes completly like a cig is not likely. Its more finding something you like........Ya get that..... You got it beat. You'll pic up your cig and not find it as for filling as ya did before.
