Ive been smoking "analog" cigarettes since i was about 14. Once I turned 18 I began smoking upwards of a pack day. I'm 23 years old now and have been smoking for nearly a decade of my short life. I prefer to smoke American Spirit Lights, but also like the occasional Marlboro Red. I had been aware of PVs previous to ever trying one, but considered them pretty much a novelty, having only seen cheaply produced, and consequently poorly functioning units. A few days ago however I was visiting a friend of mine who said he had completely substituted his smoking habit with an e-cigarette. He let me give it a go and I was pretty surprised at the decent throat hit, and nicotine satisfaction that I got from it. He had purchased his for $40 at the gas station he manages. I forget the name of it (I'll find out). The same day I found myself in my local smoke shop, DJ's to be specific if you're from AZ, trying to find my own e-cig. The only brand they carry is Crown Seven being as it is a local company I assume. The Hydro unit kit was $89.95 and the pen style was $69.95. The sales guy assured me that the Hydro unit functioned as well as an analog cigarette, and that each cartridge was equivalent to 15-20 cigarettes. I ended up purchasing the Crown Seven Hydro and a few extra cartridges. Upon arriving home I couldn't wait to charge and try out my new toy. I decided to look up there website while I was waiting and was pretty disappointed to see that I had over payed $35: Crown Seven is currently selling the Hydro online for $55. My next stop was the ECF forums as they had some Crown7 reviews. Needless to say I was pretty horrified at what I found about the $100 dollar purchase including tax that I had just made. If I thought I could return it I would try. Maybe I just need to go down to the store and get irate with the manager. But I digress. The sales guy had warned me to allow each battery to charge for 24 hrs. So the next day I got to try it out. I screwed it all together, and put on a new cartridge. I went to take a drag AND... nothing happened. I have to draw so hard on it to get it to ignite, I get dizzy just trying to get one drag before the cutoff kicks in. Not to mention this causes 3/4's of the juice to come out in your mouth. Even though it was pretty crappy I figured I'd give it a chance for a few days, or until my cartridges ran out. I was also pretty steamed to find that each cartridge might be the equivalent of 3-4 cigarettes, and that's being generous. So having learned a hard lesson, I began to peruse online for a new e-cig. Another friend of mine had found a J 108 where he works and sold it to me yesterday for $5. I assumed I would be able to find a charger and carts for it online. The atomizer looked amazing to me so I thought it was a good buy. Come to find accessories for the J 108 are almost non-existant unless you live in China. So yesterday I decided upon a Joye 510 after much research. I was considering buying one from Cignot, but thought it strange they don't give you the box. I guess its to save paper and shipping costs? I ended up buying a kit from ecigsupply.com as they are based in AZ. And a couple of bottles of 24mg e-juice from myPVshop.com up in NV. Both should arrive within the next couple days. What should I expect? Any questions, comments, or concerns are greatly appreciated.
