At work, I got two of my colleagues to seriously think about vaping. Both are 1 PAD type smokers and were my smoke buddies when we would step out. At times, we would smoke 3 in a row.

I quit Feb 1st and for a month was on gum and since Mar 1st been vaping with a basic eGO-T/C kit. I allowed them to use mine to try it out and they both quite freaked out at how close it seemed. And the quality of hit also seemed clean :).

I have picked them up both a starters kit from a store nearby my home and am gonna give it to them tomorrow. Hoping to build a vaping group at workplace so that I don't feel alone smoking something that looks weird while the other guys are smoking analogs.

And who knows - given that one of the guys is a HR head, we might convince him to setup a vaping room inside the workplace!

And I also picked up Joyetech's Tobacco flavor (have been trying USA mix, French marlboro and Hanseng's Davidoff flavors so far). This had an absolute wow effect as soon as I took my first puff. Closest to the cigarette I have been smoking here in India so far. I have left the bottle open - my first attempt at trying to steep and see what happens to it tomorrow morning :)

Good job battlefield. Since I stated vaping I have been a walking commercial for vaping to all my family and friends who smoke. I am trying not to me a PITA about it, but it's hard not to want to gently push my loved ones away from smoking and towards vaping. So far I have gotten my Mother and one sister beginning to vape. They are slowly trying to transition. I'm working on my brother and another sister too. A good friend of mine bought an ego kit a few weeks ago because of my raving about vaping and has started to vape more than smoke. I took him to my favorite vape shop yesterday to get more juices and he decided to upgrade his clearomizer too. Feels good to know you are doing something to help the people in your life that you care about.

I have managed to completely turn the girl at the gas station that originally sold my ego starter kit to me, and have partially turned my best friend, sisters boyfriend, manager, and another friend. Had I known about vaping, I would've been doing it long before January! I wonder how many possible people are out there that would love it if they tried it? ALL OF THEM! Vaping will take over the analog world (I hope)

Good job! I recently got a guy I know and my best friend to both quit and hop on the e-cig train! Both now have
batteries and tanks and are already out trying different flavors lol. So I know how you feel, once you get that
great feeling of having quit yourself, and experienced the joys of vaping, it's sincerely a joy to help your friends
make the decision to move to vaping as well!

It is one of the most satisfying things to do - sharing the information about something that could change a person's life forever.

I'm up to about 6 or 7 folks who have made the switch, and working on a few more.

And it is hard finding that balanced approach - not overly pushy, but not to subtle to where they miss the message ;)

Good job battlefield & good luck to everyone's efforts to expand our ranks

Way to go, PIF! Vaping can be a huge boon to those of us unable to kick the nicotine habit, but unwilling or unable to continue using tobacco. I began vaping when a friend outgrew his cigalike-kit in 2009 and gave it to me. My state was just starting a planned series of tax hikes on tobacco products, and it felt like a weight being lifted off of me, being able to avoid the addict-tax. I had tried to quit smoking many times, but had experienced only differing levels of failure. Vaping provided a tiny but important edge over nic-gum or nic-patches. Addiction to smoking tobacco includes health & wellbeing & psychological costs as well as financial costs. Wanting to quit and failing and failing kind of ate away at my idea of myself. It kind of damaged me in a way, to see my own best interests and still choose consistently against them.

Vaping has been a blessing in my life, and it is proper and correct to share the blessings we have accessed. The only meaningful way I can pay my friend back, is to imitate his example - for as long as I continue to enjoy the benefits. Not everyone who smokes wants to quit. Then there are those who choose to quit who are able to without life-wrenching effort. But there are also many who struggle against the addiction without much success: It is this group that has the most to gain (and lose) as vaping struggles to become a mainstream activity. Numerous parties are involved in promoting different understandings of vaping - presenting it as a wondeful Harm Reduction option, to an insidious plot to sell poison.

As a person who has benefited from vaping, I believe I have a responsibility to promote my view of "the truth" on this issue, spout off in public when appropriate, and Pay My Debt Forward whenever I stumble across or manufacture an opportunity. "battlefield" - good on ya', and RIGHT ON!

I'm here, when I'm here
Very nice, almost similar story here, except out of my 7-8 smoke buddies I have been able to convert only 1...

1 converted is better than none converted. My friend "converted" me better than 6 months ago. Wasn't hard as, at the time, I felt like my heart was about to jump out of my chest from doing very minor activity. I thank him for it, often.

Feels good to know you are doing something to help the people in your life that you care about.

Other things which feel good are aspects of your own health gradually coming back to what they need to be. Am at about 4th to 5th week out here. At two weeks think I experienced a toxicity purge. Needed to see the Tidy bowl guy for a few days. Of course, nephews being school aged kids, they got a stomach bug and were playing ping pong with it about then as well. Hard to say if it was the detoxing, stomach bug, general bad luck.

Next few days after though, was outside actually "springing" up the hills as I was out feeding critters. I noticed, "hurhm, um I'm breathing okay, not choking or gasping for air ... hur ... interesting". Then felt good enough to jog 1/4 mile. Again no real gasping like a horse sucking air through a straw. Ricked about half a cord of firewood the next day or so after. It felt good to do, was not worn to frazzle like I had been.

While it is good to help others and I like doing that, hard to ignore the goodness returning your own way. :) Also feels good to not see dirty ash trays, soot covered desk.

That is so awesome!! I gave my Halo starter kits to a co-worker and just sent a new vaper on this forum about $100.00 of equipment I had sitting in a drawer. It makes one feel so good to help others and I've seen this more than once in the community. My first ecig was a gift from a stranger. Yeah, paying it forward.

Good for you Battlefield.
I did something similar last week.
Passed on a couple eGo twist 1100 mAh batteries with assorted clearomizers, and about 6 bottles of juice to a friend who wants to quit smoking.
His first day he only had 3 analogs, and got his roomate going on the eCig also.
Makes one feel good to not only pass on (almost new) equipment to someone who will use it but also to help friends to quit the nasty habit of smoking.

I don't consciously "try" to convert people, but so far I have my sister on her 3rd week smoke free after 30 years smoking Marl.reds. and her friend, a psych. down in GA. Bought them both MVP2's and some glassomizers and they just took off with it. A good friend who I cut his hair saw my setup, asked a lot of questions and poof, he too, finally kicked the habit (I watched him over the years try everything....patches, gum, Chantix, and nothing took) It does feel really good, and like a salesperson selling a "good" product...it's 'easy' to sell it cause you believe in it!!!
