So many options, yet I'm having a hard time finding the "perfect" setup for my 5V mod. I bought it with 2ohm DC cartomizers from Tasty Vapor. Hit like a tank (the battle vehicle... not the...)! I'll stick with it, but I doubt it's my only option. I'm looking into a tank style setup as I like to vape kretek and that wreaks havoc on things. So let's get down to it.

2 questions:

1.) Best way to sample liquids without dedicating a cartomizer (drip? what atomizer for 5V?)
2.) 2.5 ohm Kanger pro tank "safe" with 5V? Seems a little low on resistance based on charts and what not

As to question 1: There are many dripping atty's for high voltage use. I personally use Ikenvape's 901s (you will need an adapter) and i06's as my main HV dripping attys. They have a selection of ohm levels to fit your voltage.
There are plenty of attys I haven't tried that are well regarded by most drippers - Cisco spec 306s, HH357s, or even the old Joye 510s. Any of these at around 2.5-3.5 ohms should work. You will need a drip tip and maybe a drip shield as well...

Eventually you might consider a VV and/or VW device so that you can adjust power. They can be pretty cheap these days, and they make things a lot easier!

I can't answer question 2 (but it will probably work ok) as I've never used the pro tank - sorry! ...and what the heck is kretek? :)

I went ahead and made the jump and ordered the protank. I like to vape pretty much non stop so I think a tank would be the way to go

Looking at MAYBE getting an eGo twist VV as those seem to be talked about an aweful lot with positive experiences. I still like ny slim little V2 for on-the-go situations. Still experimenting with different options cause there certainly seems to be no shortage of them :)
