My hello and intro

Hello. This is my first post on the forum and from all the reading I've done here the past couple of weeks I'm excited to get into the thrilling world of vaping. That being said... Damn... This ish is not easy for a noob!
Ive been a smoker for about 13 years and I just love it. Which is a shame because I have a history of lung cancer in my family. My mothers father died from lung cancer when he was 64 years old, he smoked about three packs a day up until he died. My mother also died from lung cancer at 64, but she quit when she was pregnant with my older sister at about 34 years old... 30 years of not smoking and she still died. That happened about four years ago. Certainly should have been enough motivation to quit. And it Almost was. I'd quit for six months here and there because I felt like I should. And honestly the physical withdrawal wasn't the worst I've gone thru (ahem, addictive personality) but I just Like Smoking... And then I started getting lost in my head thinking things like, "But she didn't smoke for 30 years and still died of cancer. If I'm going to get lung cancer anyway I might as well keep smoking!"
Anyway I'm grateful for this forum since searching "best ecig" on google has taken me to so many blogs that are clearly ads. I ordered a freebie njoy, which isn't half bad but isn't good enough to pay $8 a pop for something I can't recharge or reload with juice. So at the moment I'm waiting for my twist/spinner starter kit which I ordered from myvaporstore. I must admit that all this terminology gets be a bit confused so I plan to learn as I go.
anyway thanks for all the help
and thanks for rereading
love ms. Crazypants

Welcome to the forum! Congrats on kicking the habit & picking up the hobby...it will be one of the best things you ever did.

Very sorry to hear about your mother; I lost mine to lung cancer last year at about the same age as yours, so I know how difficult it is. That was my motivation to quit, and I've been analog-free for 18 months now with no chance of ever going back.

You'll find that this is a tremendously friendly, supportive group here, so make yourself at home & don't be shy with any questions. I'm fairly new myself, and everyone has been great so far.

Happy vaping! :vapor:

Hi and welcome! You will get the hang of things as you go. I was able to completely quit smoking ciggarettes after 23 years! I am loving vaping, and started out using little cigalikes. I now just use a big titan battery and clearomizer for my juice. You will find that eventually ciggarettes taste pretty bad in comparison!

Welcome, Ms. Crazypants:toast:! Gotta say, I love the moniker:laugh:! Just wanted to add that you made a great choice with that myvaporstore spinner starter kit; you clearly did your homework before ordering it:2cool:. I've also lost some family to lung cancer, and I'm sorry for your losses. But the switch isn't just great for your long-term health and longevity, but you'll also feel better day-to-day, and you'll smell a whole lot better, to boot:). Hard to imagine anyone loving smoking more than I did :)facepalm:), and if I could do it, yada, yada, yada... (Trite but true.) Please feel free to ask ANY and all questions along the way, as the folks around here are really happy to help. Enjoy:vapor:!
