I received my beautiful new Indulgence on Saturday (01-09-10). My first impression was that not onlyh was it beautiful and shiny, but smaller than I expected as well. This unit is ever so slightly larger around than a nickle and is almost exactly the same height as a 901 battery (not including the atty of course). Even with the battery installed it is not too heavy. It is heavy enough to feel sturdy but not so heavy as to feel weighted down in a pocket.
Usage:
901 Atty:
Bad: My kit must have been from the first shipments. My atty connector is slightly off center but is functional. The connector also has some dings in the threads which has caused a couple of my KR808D1 cartomizers to now only work on my Indulgence. (I have emailed David on this matter and am confident of a speedy resolution)
Pros: This thing really puts out the vapor!!!! I realize that all mods should put out pretty equal vapor with comparable batteries, but in this case it simply isn't true. I think this is mostly due to this battery holding it's maximum capacity for a longer period than most of the other mod batteries. Using a 901 atty the vapor and flavor are simply awesome! There just is no comparison. Using my KR808D1 cartomizers I can safely say the same. Although I will say the air holes in this adapter are wayyyyyyy too big. This allows for far too much air when using cartomizers. I pushed a very small rubber "O" ring down over the threads on the adapter to help plug the holes a bit. This is a big help. Still a lot of airflow but much better.
801 Atty:
Cons: Same issue as the 901 connector. Slightly off center and the threads are dinged up a bit making it very hard to screw the atty in place. (I also mentioned this in my email to David)
Pros: Once again this has proved to be a real vapor producer. Once I finally got an 801 (technically a 302 from Janty) atty properly installed and seated this thing was fantastic! I have tried several 801 battery options from the original battery to a Chuck, Laser mod, Janty Stick and a Magnum Mod. There is no comparison. This unit provides much more consistant vapor than any of the others. I can say this though, this thing will drink juice at an alarming rate with an 801. It has been next to impossible to keep my 801 atty wet enough without simply dripping 3 drops for every other drag.
510 Atty:
Cons: This one the threads are a bit crooked causing the atty to sit at a slight angle.
Pros: Once again I am left amazed at the utter quantity of vapor produced! I know the 510's are known for vapor production, but with standard batteries there is just no life to them. Once again I am forced to go to dripping with this to keep the atty wet enough. This may be partly due to my Chain-vaping, but I am too thrilled with the end result to quit. This unit may have actually made me re-think my opinion of my first love, the 510. I had put away all my 510 supplies long ago in favor of the massive plumes of vapor to be had with an 801.
401 Atty:
Cons: None so far except that the 401 was never a favorite of mine.
Pros: With the 401 attached to the Indulgence I get the feeling this is what might have been intended as optimal performance for a 401 in the first place. The vapor and flavor are nothing to write home about, but the consistent strong hits and long lasting battery make this a nice option to have. I only had 1 401 atty left over from one of my very first kits, so this is a great way to use it. I am still not a 401 fan, but this will work out nicely in a pinch.
Batteries & Charger:
I already have a universal charger but decided to try this one since others had mentioned having trouble with theirs. Mine is working flawlessly. Some better instructions as to which way to insert batteries might have been helpful, but other than that no complaints. For those who need to know the positive goes towards the led light.
The batteries have been fantastic. This is my first experience with this exact model of battery. I am a very heavy vaper and was very surprised at how long the batteries last. If you are a KR808d-1 or DPV9 user these batteries will get you pretty close to 10 hours of constant use. 901 users should see 6-7 hours and 510 users should see about 5-6. So far I seem to be getting 6 hours steady on my 801's. So, great battery life!
Overall opinion:
I am totally impressed with this unit as a whole. The battery life is fantastic! The vapor and flavor production are greatly improved on all of my attys. My juices taste better (Even the really bad ones are tolerable). All of my cartomizers (KR808D-1) are producing more vapor and are much more consistent in flavor. I am actually having to refill my cartomizers before having to change batteries. I am completely satisfied with this mod. As soon as I get the new adapters to be sure there are no more issues of dinged threads I will likely purchase another one in silver. Even with the $15 shipping fee you are hard pressed to find a cheaper mod anywhere. You certainly will not find another one that comes standard with all of the common adapters. This is a fantastic buy!
Update: Just got an email from David. My replacement parts are being shipped out today. Again, I cannot say enough about this product and the customer service! The BEST!
