Before I got my Vamos (V3 in black chrome, V4 in chrome), I used the following: Tritons, 510 step-volt passthrough, BB, ePalm.

To me, the most useful aspects of the Vamo, in this order, are:

a) consistent wattage, automatically adjusted per the atomizer selected (the sweetest treat)
b) battery voltage check
c) ohm meter

Outside of that, while I DO like the look of the Vamo (at least the V4, I am going to get a J-wrap for the V3), the size and heft is going to take some getting used to.

A quick question: Do any of you use the 2250mAh Panasonic CGR18650CH Hybrid IMR 18650 batteries? Some people have said that they outperform AW IMRs.

I use the Panasonic batteries. Those are my only 18650s, and I use Efest 18350s. People talk about batteries performing better than others, but I don't get it. The only difference I've observed is run time. The 18650s are 2100 and some change mAh whereas the 18350s are 800 mAh, so obviously the 18650s will go significantly longer between charges.

Maybe people are vaping at a very high voltage with a very low resistance coil (which equals very high wattage)? I vape between 5 watts and 6.5 watts depending on the juice and delivery device. Can't say I notice any difference between my batteries.

Edit: Both types of batteries I use are unprotected batteries. Never tried protected batteries, but the reportedly cut out during vaping; the Vamo has safety features that negate the need for protected batteries.

I was also surprised by the heft and remembered people saying it feels like a light saber or flashlight. I can see it taking a little getting used to. Like I said in my original review of the V3 (which I have only owned a week), if they could make a cigalike that lasted like an 18650 and hit like a Vamo, it would be perfect. But that technology is still in the future. :D In the meantime the performance will start to mean more than the heft, hopefully. :)

I have a V2 and use it with an 18350 (EH). It's small enough but most people still tell me "I've never seen an ecig that big" lol. A single 18350 lasts me about half a day so I have several and always carry a spare with me.

I did get a protected battery by mistake once and it did cut out. Luckily I got it at a B&M and they exchanged it with no problems.

Cold fusion, my friend. It is coming and will change vaping forever.

LOL! Yeah, that's what we need, nuclear powered things to suck on! :D The stories of those exploding should be exiting: "In today's news, Miami Beach, Florida disappeared when a vapor's cold fusion e-cigarette exploded creating a mini-black hole. Stephen Hawking believes Miami could have been transported to a parallel universe, while other scientists believe it was simply blown to smithereens before it was molecularly disassembled at the event horizon. In other news, several homes are now available in the previously tight real estate market of neighboring Coral Gables." :D

Yeah, the Vamo is rather big and heavy. Those Panasonics are well liked, but I couldn't find any last week. I ended up getting the Efest 2250 mah which supposedly is the Panasonic rewrapped. I can't say about how well they perform against the AW, don't have any AW's and they are scarce at the moment also.

try the vamo in 18350 mode, it's what i used to use as my out on the town vape. You are sacrificing battery life for portability.

I am using the gray 18650 pannies and they are working great, I don't let any of my batteries go completely dead, so I can't attest to their longevity but they have lasted me all day in my reo grand.
