Hello everyone, my name is Corey. I just got into vaping. Well, this is the first time I'm sticking with it. I've tried the cartridges before and always went back to smoking. This time, I can say I've officially quit smoking cigarettes.

I was a pack a day smoker and the cartridges never satisfied me. Someone at work lent me their small V2 batteries and tanks. I absolutely fell in love with the e-liquid. It worked so much better than the cartridges.

So I decided to take the plunge and order an ego for myself. I ended up getting a Vision Spinner battery, several EVOD tanks, and several flavors of e-juice. I absolutely love it.

My last cigarette was on December 23rd, 2013 around 11am. According to the signature banner I made (yet can't seem to apply), I saved $68.81 and have avoided 218 cigarettes. This is awesome because the ego and juice I've bought so far have already paid for themselves.

I look forward to learning a lot here, and will appreciate any advice.

Thanks guys :)

Congrats :) I would advise using that equipment until it fails and then replacing it with a VV/VW and an RBA. I spent a lot of money on the Kanger/Ego type stuff and had nothing but problems with it and finally ended up switching to a genesis style RBA and have been happy for 3 months so far. Just my $0.02.

I am already looking for a nice PV. The Spinner I have is VV, but not VW. I haven't had any problems with my EVODs yet, but I'm also getting a ProTank 3 froma friend who bought it and never used it lol.

I was looking at a Provari, but that is a little out of the price range for now lol. I was also looking at an eVic for now, but I don't want to lose my ego threads since I do use the EVODs.

I have a lot of time to think about it though so we'll see what happens.

Congrats and welcome to the forum, I personally love the Provari's and yes the price is a little high..but if you can find some good used ones on any classifieds jump on the chance. I don't have one yet, but I have been vaping off of my friends and mixed with the different types of tanks he uses..its one of the most amazing taste profiles I have found in my time vaping.

Welcome to the forum Corey! I would recommend waiting a little longer and saving a bit more for a Provari. It is such a well built piece that performs flawlessly every time you pic it up. Not to sound redneck but it's made in Murica! and that really does make a difference in buying electronics. Do yourself a favor and if you can hold one and compare it to others before deciding what to buy. Then you well be able to really see the quality differences. Plus Provape sells an ego adapter to screw onto the 510 connection so you can used ego style tanks on a Provari (its like 6 bucks). Just my thoughts homie and again welcome to ECF!

Go job on giving up the analogs and moving to vaping instead.
The Evic you mentioned has both 510 and the Ego cloned threads so both the full size Protank and the Evods will work with it. The Evic was the first large mod I purchased after starting out with the ego batteries.

Quitting smoking is surely a great decision and accomplishment when you look at all the glaring negatives, and vaping is undoubtedly the lesser of 2 evils. But I'm not a fan of those banner things w/ the exact date (the same goes for addicts/alcoholics w/ the date). I feel like if someone makes this huge deal about a celebratory date, if they do slip up at some point, it would be more of a failure for them and they may wind up just smoking again. It took me quite a few attempts after 10+ yrs of smoking before quitting finally stuck, but once I was a non-smoker, I didn't have any issues w/ a once in a blue moon cigarette. There's no way I'd ever personally pick up the daily habit again, absolutely not. I've had 2 cigarettes since I started vaping, and they tasted even MORE disgusting than I'd remembered. Vapor actually tastes GOOD, and it's shocking how it compares to combusted tobacco smoke IMO. I even prefer the slightly slower delivery of nicotine now via vaping, after trying another cig, which just felt gross and dirty. I can't say what would be in someone else's best interests, but an occasional smoke can even further reinforce my steadfastness to be a non-smoker. I do plan on using Snus again when I can get the Swedish kind, cuz my fondness for nicotine is still ongoing, but my main love will be vaping for the forseable future.

Wow, this community has to be the nicest and most accepting group I have ever seen in the forum world. Thank you all, I seriously appreciate all the kind words.

This is definitely something I'm sticking with. It's helped so much and it's only been less than 2 weeks. I found an evic for about 60, so that's going to be my next purchase.

Question for you guys though. I've been using Mt Baker Vapor. Is that a "good" brand of liquid to keep using? Some of the flavors I got are awesome, but some are pretty bad lol.

you NAILED it

some good , some not

we can't all like everything

the key is FIND what YOU like and stock up

I've been through several flavors and have to guess 60% are
winners for me...

(manipulate the "flavor shots" to customize juice to you)

so do the leg work (mouse) and save some money with
some safe, great service and prices, & super fast shipping...

:2cool:

So I just found a Vamo V5 for 28$. I think this would be a great first step into the PV/Mod world lol.

My VV Spinner was $24, so I won't mind spending anothe 28 on a Mod. I just hope it comes with the battery. If not, it's not a big deal.

Anyone have any experience with the Vamo?

Well, I ordered the Vamo V5. With the Vamo, and charger, it came to 32$ from Fast Tech. I also ordered a Panasonic 18650 3100mAh battery for 10$. So my intro to the mod world was only 42$. That's a good day in my book lol.

With the addition of a Protank 3 from my friend, I think I'll have a very good experience.

Does anyone have any advice or tips?

I'd say get a backup battery. I have 2 18650s so I never have to sit and wait to vape. 3 days off the stinkers and don't want any reason to relapse. Charge time may be while on that 3100 mAh. Mine are 2000 mAh and one will last me about a day and a half, or about 5 mls of juice.

That seems like a really good price for the V5. Is it a clone or real deal?
