My intro

Hi everyone,

My name is Angie. I am new to the forum and semi new to vaping. I have been a smoker for over 30 yrs. tried everything in the world to quit. So I decided to try e-cigs. I have tried a few different kinds of ecigs. Disposables and now using Clearatomizers (Ego). I hope to learn more on this forum!

I have a few questions if that is ok. My first is I like to vape but I constantly feel the urge to have a real cigarette and usually break down and have one.. Is there any suggestions to help with the urge because I really want to stop smoking the nasty things. One other question I have noticed I have serious dry mouth when vaping. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Welcome to ECF Angie!!!
The thing lots of folks do to help fight that urge to smoke is to get a bottle of higher nic say 24mg or even 36mg and vape on that when you get those smoking urges.
Dry mouth is common with vaping. Just need to drink lots of water and imo your body learns to adjust and the dry mouth kinda just goes away. Did for me any way. Drink mucho agua.
What level is your nicotine right now?

I am at 18 mg

I was wondering about the dry mouth thought something was wrong with me LOL Now I know

I have noticed with a few of the flavors it makes a popping noise when I take a drag is that normal
thanks!

You may want to get a bottle of 24mg to help fight the cigarette cravings.

What is wrong with doing both for a while? I wasn't trying to quit (this time). I just wanted to save a bit of money and try something new. I loved vaping from the start. I smoked and vaped for a while and just started naturally vaping more...smoking less. By the time I got down to a couple of cigarettes a day, they tasted so bad to me that I almost couldn't use up my last pack. I think that must be why I had no withdrawal symptoms or anxiety. After so many years of smoking (40+) and trying everything from Chantix to stuffing straws with cotton, vaping was the answer for me. It has been a year real cigarette and the best part is..........it's been a year since I haven't wanted one. Good luck to you and I hope to read about your vaping successes and purchases. I even like reading about problems because when someone posts one....so many others are helped.

Welcome to ecf. It is just a wonderful place to me. :) Happy vaping.

Yeah, dry mouth is normal, but it will go away as your body gets used to vaping. In the meantime, like everyone else said, you'll want to stay hydrated.

As for the cravings, keeping one of your clearos full of a higher nic liquid is definitely helpful - you can change to that one when you're having a craving. Another idea, if it fits into your budget, is to try a variable voltage or variable wattage device (one of the best, the MVP, is about $40). It would replace your ego batteries and work with the clearomizers you already have. With one of these, you can control how powerful your e-cig is, so you can turn it up to get more vapor.

I've tried a lot of different set ups, and while I liked the ego and earlier cig-a-likes, I wasn't able to fully quit smoking until I got one of these adjustable ones. But once I did, I was ok. I haven't had a cigarette since my battery finished charging up the day I bought it.

Thanks for the great suggestions, I have decided I may be one of those that cant completely give up on regular smokes quite yet. Am gonna try to incorporate the vaping more and more and hopefully get to a point I don't need the smokes anymore and just vape! I tend to be quite hard on myself when I am trying to quit regular smokes. ( I realize vaping isn't considered a stop smoking device, but I am tired of all the nasty crap in cigarettes) I know in my heart vaping will do wonders for me its just not going to happen overnight!

I could seriously tell you horror stories about my experiences with Chantix!

I am so glad I found this forum!

Noone will judge you for a cigarette now and again. You deserve a pat on the back for every cigarette you've avoided.

I'm sure once you have the hardware sorted, and a flavor you absolutely love at a strength that suits you'll totally leave the cigarettes behind. Some of us are lucky and find a combo almost straight away. Others have to try a few things first.

I hope you find your ideal soon. You're in the right place, that's a good step ;)
