Hullo ECF,

My name is Grim (I already saw at least one other "Grim" on here hehe) and I am sitting at my laptop smoking an analog. I smoke around a Pack a day right now, and am a 15 year smoker (started as a silly teenager).

About 3 months ago I randomly stumbled onto the Blu Cig website from a link from god knows where. I looked at thier product... read the testimonials, did some math... and honestly wasn't impressed enough to place an order. Mostly I wasn't impressed because there was no real info there.

Around the Beginning of March, I somehow stumbled upon the ECF in my internet travels. However, I think blind luck was on my side this time. I was astounded by the pages and pages of info, Esoterical, Technical, Whimsical and all.

After a Week of reading into the wee hours of the morning I placed an order for an 808 from V4L ... Which is funny because the kit I ordered is more expensive (memory?) than the original Blu Cig kit that I scoffed at.

My 808 went through chicago at 12 AM today so I doubt that It will be here today, but maybe tommorow. I have the Kit, 10x empty cartomizers coming, in addition to a 10x 3ml sampler pack from BestCiggy.com to begin my new "hobby".

Thank you all for the wonderful community, and thank you all in advance because Lord knows I will need your support and help in the coming months.

Grim

Welcome to the weird and wonderful world of E-smoking Grimtooth!

You can be sure there will be plenty of people here to help you with your many questions you will no doubt have! :)

You may well find it a very addictive hobby?? But don`t expect miracles straight away, everyone is different in how easy it is for them to pack up the weed!

All the best Mufftrix.........

I just wanted to say when it comes in stick with it. I was surprised how easy it has been to quit analogs. I was a pack a day smoker and now have been on the ecig for 9 days. I do notice that i wish i had a high mg nic for the morning and after meals. I ordered some 36 mg nic yesterday and it should be in tomorrow or friday.

I am really new to the ecig and will be learning with you. Good luck and you have my prayers.

my new "hobby"
And that is the one down side to vaping. It seems to turn into a hobby for a lot of people. That's fine if you have the money for it (and honestly, it's a hell of a lot cheaper than many hobbies), but I don't. There's just too many cool devices and tasty juice flavors out there.

Dammit, why couldn't vaping just be a dull necessity like smoking was? I hardly ever said "Oooh! New cigarettes! Must buy them!" I simply walked into the store and paid my premature death tax every couple days like a good little addict and never thought any more about it. Stupid fun vaping... :D

Actually I used to run to the store to buy the latest Camel special blends when they came out. But vapping is much more flavorful and when the time comes I can go zero nicotine with minimal impact to the flavor. Anyone ever try Quest cigarettes? Remove nicotine and insert lettuce flavor :nah:

Good luck with your upcoming venture! Don't get discouraged if your not immediately satisfied with your vapping experience, there are many variables involved. At first it might not compare to smoking, but tweak something simple like the voltage or flavoring and you can be in heaven  I've had a PV for over a year now and didn't find a device that kept me off analogs until about 2 months ago...though I wasn't actively searching for one until a month prior.

I have pretty much the same story as you Grimtooth. I think I saw a blu ad on facebook and I started looking around. Wasn't really impressed when I googled info on them so I googled "e-cigarette review" and this site was at the top of the list.

I've gone 8 days without an analog, minus a couple of drags to kind of check up and see what I was missing. In my case, I didn't just get an e-cig and put the analogs down. I had to keep sticking with the e-cig. I do still get the urge to light up when I find myself doing things where I ordinarily would have fired one up, but those instances are getting fewer and fewer. Best of luck to you :)

I've always been a big fan of flavored cigarettes, and I loved the Camel flavored series (the ones that came in the flat tin). I was very disappointed when they stopped making them. I particularly loved the flavor (I forget what it was called) with the yellow writing, that tasted exactly like good scotch. I've never been able to find anything similar, even after trying several "whiskey" flavored pipe tobaccos. Does anybody know of a comparably flavored juice?

But much as I enjoyed them, I didn't get as worked up over new cigarette flavors as I have about vaping. New cig flavors were also few and far between, as opposed to new PV models and juices, which seem to come out every week. I suppose that if the biggest complaint I have against vaping is that it's "too awesome", then I probably shouldn't be complaining at all.

It's a journey you've started Grim. Each of us has our own path, but we're all together.

Mine took weeks and weeks before I found the juice combo that allowed me to never want another cig. Finding the flavor & nic combo that works was the most interesting, frustrating, rewarding part of the beginning of my journey. Hope yours is smoother.

Thank you all for the replies :)

So while I wait for the mail... I think its time for my first Round of questions!

I got the KR808D-1 Ultimate Ultimatum kit, empty carts, and liquid coming... because I figured to have the best shot I would want to have enough supplies to last a couple weeks in order to give this the best chance for success. (not sure if i got enough for that really but that was my thought)

I can use the PT at home on my laptop but when I'm out and about ... about how many "puffs" ? will the battery last on average? I ordered just the standard Auto batts, not mini's... even though part of me wanted to ask for mini's because they look more like an analog.

and... about how many puffs will a full cart last?

I know that this is .... but when I first was on the Blu Cig website they had some numbers that may or may not be representative of reality. So I did a quick test that day and came up with the following "fact".

I generally take between 15-20 drags off of an analog before I put it out.

Taking into consideration that I can put down and pick up the PV at Will, ie... without worry that it will "Burn Away" , and also without that caveat that I will be smoking a whole analog once I light it... I really have no idea If i will vape more / more often or less / less often than I currently smoke? It seems that most people on the forums sound like they vape ALOT.

I smoke Camel Lights which are purported to have approx 0.7 mg of nicotine per smoke. but I ordered 24 and 36 mg/ml juice for two reasons... first, people have said that it might be best to start with a higher nic content than you think, in order to help cravings for non nic contents in analogs (CO/CO2 rush, etc) Secondly I can just dilute with VG if its too strong.

Any guesstimations on how many ml per puff or how many puffs per ml might help me to not poison myself lol.

THANK YOU ALL !!

From what I have heard, it is the general guesstimation that you will vap between 2 and 3 milliliters of juice a day, once you get comfortable with it.
As far as poisoning yourself, this is what I will say; when I was smoking analogs regularly, 2 full flavor camel 99's (my preference) would make me physically sick. I vap sporadically (several puffs every couple 5 minutes) all day long and, aside from the very first day, I have felt no ill effects from it.
From most of what I have read I understand it to be that even though the ratio of nicotine in your juice is much higher then that in an analog, the process of vaping actually delivers much less nicotine into your system, puff for puff, then a standard analog would.

Don't fret the numbers Grim. You'll know when you vape too much nicotine.

Well provided that you know if you get hiccups, headaches, stomach aches, or sudden loose bowels. I sure hope you know when those things are happening, because it could be real embarrassing if you didn't. Your body will tell you if you are getting too much in your system and it usually starts with a light-headed feeling.

Grim, I'm quite new to the vaping experience myself, started March 9th and have been smokefree for a week so far.

About the whole "will I overdoze" thing. I still do :p

But not terribly. I vape a little during work hours. Once I get home I gradually vape more and more throughout the evening, simply because I enjoy it.

By the time I am ready to go to bed, I am in a dizzy state. Not uncomfortable, just dizzy. This is all on 18mg juice.

I'm quite sure that I will settle into a better routine once the "novelty" of vaping wears out, so that I don't get dizzy every evening.

Other than that, all I have to add is "Go for it". I cannot believe how easy it has been, I never meant to stop the analogs, it just happened by itself. And I have absolutely no cravings for analogs anymore.

Glad to hear it Sweep !

So you run 18mg Juice... how many Analogs did you used to smoke? ... I'll bet I went too strong on this first order... I think i got one flavor in 36mg and the rest in 24...

I was on the verge of clicking "Order" on some RY4 (from the reviews seems to be a good starting flavor) at 24 mg but i thought I really better wait for the kit to get here (should be today) so i can do some test vaping before ordering (More) stronger juice than I need... I can and probably will get a bottle of VG at work today just in case.

Seems to me that In the end I am probably going to end up with a large variety of flavors and strengths to either relax and vape on, or quash a craving when needed.

P.S. right before this I found a site to buy cobalt and amber glass dropper bottles ... I had no idea they were so cheap lol ... I will Definately be doing some DIY mixing sometime in the future.
