I am so proud of myself. I went to an altsmoke B&M with my Virus and they taught me how to do coils (please correct me if I'm wrong). I built them in a stillare silver clone.

And I present...

I am so so so proud of myself. :) Is that what I did? Build my own coils? I used 100% organic cotton from the shop, but could not find it anywhere after leaving the shop. Went to JoAnns fabric, CVS, Wal-Mart, nothing rolled and organic so I purchased some when I came home from an online shop.

How does it look? I used 28g wire and wrapped it around a 2mm screwdriver. It is soaked with my love, the virus in it as I type this.

I'm in heaven.

Congrats on your first dripper build. I vaped on pre-built coil tanks and carto tanks months before stepping into dripping. Game changer for sure....flavor, clouds, etc. Nothing compares IMO. One thing that I struggled with off the bat though was wicking consistency. I was using organic cotton and just could not get a consistent wick each time I changed wicks. I solved this problem by getting Japanese cotton pads. So easy. Just split the pad in half and cut a strip. Perfect and consistent wicks every time. Some people are big fans of rayon too....have yet to try it though.

Looks good, hope you got an ohms meter and understand what the limits of your battery are.
Norrin! It's so great to see you!

You would be proud (I think). They hooked me up with 2 new batteries (18650 2500mAh 3.7V, they're a reddish-pink color) and explained what it when to stop when my bullet starts to pull and weaken. However, I did not get a ohms reader.

Now I'm starting to get uneasy that I did something wrong.

Did I do everything right? I will get an ohms reader asap online.

You definitely want an ohm meter when building and using a mech. And good bats are a must. Be very familiar with the continuious discharge rating on your bat. Here is a great blog post on batteries, safety, etc. This is where I started when I decided to get into rebuilding and mechs. Safety first.

Bats I highly recommend are any of the sony vtc series (if you can find authentic ones that are available), Samsung, LG, and AW. RTD Vapor is my go to place to buy from. Looks like they have some Sony VTC4s in stock too.

My eyes aren't what they used to be but that looks like about 7 or 8 wraps 28ga.?

And yeah if you're going to rebuild get a meter soon I use this one The Omnitester and a DMM but the meter I linked is a good place to start. I think you are fine if you have some 20amp+ batteries but some pics of them would help as well.

Don't get nervous we will get ya through this. :)

Thanks for the heads up and the charts and websites on safety.

I have a lot of studying and reading to do tonight.

Safety first, as I preach to my son.

But, I am still really excited that I was able to create something. I've never created anything like this before. With my shaky hands this was quite an accomplishment for me.

Well your build is getting on the low side, about 0.5 ohms (hard to be precise from a pic) . You really NEED to check your coils because even if it is 0.5 Ohms a short could cause big problems and it's not always easy to see. So don't think you have done anything wrong, but stop till you get the meter and make sure your safe.

Will do. Promise.
