I am using a subox mini... using 24awg kanthal wire, 5 rounds... it was 0.5ohm on the mod...
when i put it first in my rba and fire up, it glows red as per normal...
but however the second time, it would not fire up, i check the ohm it started to rise beyond 0.5 and keep rising until 1.3ohm... then my mod on the ohm meter it will blink and stop firing...

i have to wait for it to cool down before i can fire again...

what went wrong?

If your RDA does not use grub screws I have had a couple that the head of the screw will make contact with the top of the post before the bottom of the screw can fully secure the wire in the hole. This causes a bad connection and can make your resistance change as you use it. Once yo have the coil built and mounted, wiggle the end of the leads that stick out the back of the post holes. if your coil wiggles with it then the screws are not making a good enough connection. If this happens you can solve it a few different ways... Best: replace screws with grub screws. good: File the top of the post down a little so that the screw can go further in the holes. Not as good: Add a piece or two of larger gauge Kanthal in the post holes only to help pinch your coils legs adn make a good connection.

It sounds like you have a connection issue i the post holes. 24g should be good as it is a fairly large diameter wire. Also check to see that your center post is a good connection and nice and solidly mounted in teh RDA. clean both the positive pin n the bottom and in your mods 510.

How are you checking your coils resistance? Ohm meter or are you using your Mod? is the coil possibly making contact with teh RDA deck, posts or top cap? post a pic of it and perhaps someone will spot something that looks suspect.

If your ohms are jumping around, there is something in the line that is loose. I had the same issues with my Kayfun v4. Mine ended up being a spring that was too compressed. I stretched it out and it was all good.

Here are the steps I would suggest:

1. Check the coil - especially where the ends are screwed down. Be sure the ends are tucked in really well so they do not stick out and touch any other metal parts.

2. If the coil checks out, start taking the tank apart and checking for any loose pieces. If you need any help in doing so, go on youtube and look up videos for your device - there should be at least one that will go over the entire breakdown and rebuild process.

Exactly what I was gonna say. This is what to check first. Good luck.
