So I finally got a chance to try out my new DSE-905 today. The first one had a faulty switch, and had to be replaced. Kudos to Chris over @ Freedom Smokes, he took care of the problem quickly and professionally!
Here are my initial impressions on the 905:
Using the included 901 atty and carts, the draw seems to be a bit stiffer than I am accustomed to using using my Magma attys, Boge cartos, or even my LR 510 attys on my eGos. Even with the harder draw, the vape is very light and airy feeling. It also seems to me to be a bit more prone to flooding than a 510. I modded one of the carts with BF, just a full cart insert, and that seems to help. Will have to see if a variation of the Dart mod, or the highping mod will work without making it even more prone to flooding. As a last resort, I suppose I could just add a few less drops into the cart, instead of cramming every single one I can get in there! One of my suppliers has LR 901 attys at a great price, added a few to my last order to try on this little puppy, more on that when they get here.
I had the foresight to pick up a 901battery to 510atty adapter on my last mod parts order from MadVapes, so I was also able to test it using the Magma 510 atty with a Dart Mod cart. Now there's the vape and flavor I'm accustomed to! I haven't found out where the cutoff is on the 905 yet, I think the docs say it's somewhere around 10 seconds, which is perfect for my vaping style. This bad boy makes an awesome 900mAh 'mod' battery for your Magma atty, or any other atomizer style or brand with the appropriate adapter.
With just the adapter, the Magma atty, and one of the new Volcano anodized drip tips, it makes an awesome dripper! I've ordered some black adapters for it, instead of the ss one I got from MadVapes to keep it all black, which should keep my OCD from getting too out of hand!
Speaking of hands, this little powerhouse fits quite comfortably in the palm of your hand, actually it's much smaller than I expected it would be. Much smaller than my dGo mod, which uses the same size/style battery!
Last but not at all in the least, using the Boge cartos with the adapter also works flawlessly. Same performance as with my Magma or mega 510 batts, but with plenty of power to vape them dry, even more so than my eGo batts!
