Well, the iTaste battery I purchased off the eBay link in the itaste thread no longer registers with my 10s clearos. They work great on my 10s battery so I know they are not the problem. I am thinking they are not getting low enough to make contact with the battery. I emailed the seller. I have had since 7 November and been using for 3 days since I was out of town for two of the days.

If they won't accept it back I guess I could hit the top with a file to take a little off but I don't know the wisdom if that since it is a battery. It would just be lower the screw part a little to improve contact. Advise on this is welcome.

I am am a little discouraged about this since I was not over tightening the clearos when I put them on. :glare:

innokin products have very deep wells on their 510 connections.

True. Although I love my MVP-1, mine will not connect electrically with a 510 thread cartotank. It will connect with a 510 thread iClear 30 or Kanger Protank clearomizer.

Thus far, I'm satisfied using just the iClear & Protank clearos on the MVP, but at some point I'll likely try pulling the center pin or filing down the connector ring with a dremel so that I can use my cartoanks.

Here is what I learned through this whole ordeal. When I pull the trigger up I can only screw the clearo on until it is taught. I cannot screw it all the way down like my 10s battery as I will get erratic ohm readings. If I just put it on until it is taught I get steady ohm readings in the normal 2.0 to 2.3 area. This was a real learning experience. Unsure if I will purchase another iTaste since the new version does not have the trigger adjustability the old version of the 10s has. I may need to go another route when what I have stops working.

Is this true of all their devices? I was wondering this about the VTR. I'd hate to get it & then find out I'm going to have trouble with carto tanks with it when I could just get a provari & know it's going to work with everything.

I had the same thing basically with an itaste 3. It worked fine with innokin's iclear 30 and 16, but several carto's would not.

I pulled the pin a little and it worked fine for a couple of weeks. Then one night, I was out and went from iclear to carto tank and it would not fire. Now mind you, I was out drinking, and my favorite drinking juice was in the carto, so I was pretty ....... Needless to say, the next day I took a file to the itaste. Been working fine since. You dont have to take off much. I wouldnt necessarily recommend it to everyone, as it is a bit drastic, but I did not want to find myself in that situation again with the itaste. Of course, I am starting to look at mechanical's now, so I may not even have the problems anymore if I go that route full time. lol

I dont know about the VTR. But I have seen it on the itaste vv\vw3 and the MVP2. And it is not like they are broken or anything. I like innokin products, but it seems like their 510 connection on their clearos have a bit more threading, and thus their batteries have a deeper well to accommodate their devices better.

It all comes down to different companies having slightly different tolerances.

And it is not much on the batteries I have seen from innokin. like 1mm to 1.5mm deeper. But with some toppers, that 1mm makes the difference between firing and not firing.

Again, I dont know about the vtr, but if I was willing to bet, I would bet it is the same across their device line.

I took a file to it last night and took a half turn out. It seats fine with consist numbers now. I will check level later today but overall I think it is fine. I guess if I bought 16 clearos I would not have had this issue. I may buy those when I need replacements if it lasts that long.

I have been in communication with the seller from eBay and was told by them that the battery they sell will not work the 10s clearos. I did tell them that their listing states that it does. Be aware of these if your using something other than 16 or 30 clearos. I don't have any of those so I cannot comment on this battery. I will not use this seller again. I think everyone knows who the seller is if you go to the itaste thread.
