It's no secret that "The Virus" became my favorite from the very first vape. I tried it in a Kanger protank2 and just couldn't imagine it getting any better. Then I bought a nautilus and naturally filled it up with the virus, what a disappointment, tasted nothing like what I was used to from the protank. Now don't get me wrong, the nautilus is a great tank, Ive used it with Radioactive and Creme Brulee and really enjoyed it, but it just didn't do it with the Virus.

Fast forward to yesterday, bought a Kayfun plus (Tobeco clone) from my local B&M store. Brought it home, cleaned it, and let it dry overnight. Put a 2 ohm coil in it this morning and filled with the Virus. Then I wiped up 3 ml. of my precious liquid of of the desk. :( After tightening everything back up I tried it again, success!!!

I'm in heaven, taste is different from the protank, but for the better, and I didn't think that was possible....Mike

Yes that virus is something magical. I love it in a dripper. Haven't tried it in a kayfun yet. The Kayfuns are absolutely great with the fruit liquids, Betelgeuse, F5, Gavity.
Have you tried Radioactive yet? Also fantastic. Oh and next week is tightening! Coffee, tobacco, vanilla goodness.

I've tried Radioactive, it's okay, just not quite strong enough for me. Seems that after 50 years of smoking I may not have too many taste buds still alive, go figure. Tightening sounds good.

Haven't tried dripping, almost afraid to, I probably would like it way too much and end up with a desk full of unused equipment. Wasn't going to buy the Kayfun but this is what the 2 guys working at my local smoke shop are using, being the good salesmen they are, one of them let me try his with a juice I was familiar with, Couldn't believe the difference in flavor....Mike

Heya Mike! Glad it decided to play nice in the KFL+ for you! I love your illustration because it kinda reinforces what I have been saying repeatedly since the beginning - a great vape is a synergy between the user, hardware, and the liquid... sometimes, for whatever reason, I specific topper (or wattage, or wicking material) will bring out all the right things for one person, and all the wrong things for another... with quality liquid, it's just a matter of fiddling with the hardware variables to extract the best out of the liquid (for you!). Not quite the simplicity we came to expect when we were smoking analogs, but those of us that are gluttons for punishment enjoy the experimentation process!! Congrats on the KFL btw - you should definitely try some ReadyXWick in that bad boy, I am getting the best results I have ever gotten from ReadyX!

I second the motion on the fruit + Kayfun combo, for me at least. F5 not so much, but definitely Betelgeuse and Gravity (YMMV)

Just what Kent says 2 posts above about synergy and hardware and user. For me I absolutely love F5 in the Kayfun. Lychee, almost pineappley, perfect balance of coconut. ( Goes great with mallo cups ) LMAO

If you decide to get another KFL+ clone, I would suggest the EHPro. It gets a way better seal between the top of the chimney and the top cap which is the cause of the dumping of juice as well as leaking out the air hole in the Tobeco. Cool that you got it working!

Enjoy the Virus, you ARE INFECTED!!!

Same - I rebuilt my Brass Monkee with 28gu dual parallel coils coming in at under.2 ohms - and - yes - yes!

Hey Clark,

How many wraps and on what diameter and what wick? Sounds interesting... Something to try after I get back from San Antonio this week and watch Rips video again...

I too have a Tobeco Kayfun clone and while I don't suffer from the leaking issues with the air hole, I am wondering if there is an issue with the seal on the chimney as I tend to get a juice flavor (does that make sense), like more than just the vapor when using the Kayfun. I also get a popping sound from the coil (.8 ohms if I recall) and then notice extra flavor so to speak. Could I be flooding?

Extra flavor is good, popping means the coil is heating the juice. As long as you are not getting gurgling or wet juice in your mouth, it is working. If the seal in your chimney is not working well, you would have leaking, as the seal in the chimney is what keeps the juice in the tank from leaking out.

Also, you should always fill your Kayfun from the fill hole. If you fill it from the top, you will most likely have leaking until the vacuum sets right again. Kayfun's rely upon this vacuum to perform correctly.

+1 for the Reo. Seriously. I just tried to put back together my Taifun GT from it's dripper state. What a pain. Didn't even work, the plastic and metal won't stay together. So it's back in dripper form.

I've got 1 Evod left for Virus, a few drippers on a Provari, and 4 Reos; 1 permanent Virus and 1 permanent so far for CB.

shouting from the depths of the internet in hopes that someone hears, REO!
