After owning all of these tanks for awhile now I thought I would give my impressions of them compared to each other and the things that I feel need to be done to them in order to make them vape properly. Below are the quirks of each tank design. Hopefully this can save someone from buying the wrong tank, and help them buy the right one the first time!
$30-40 - Kayfun Lite Plus/Russian 91%: My build - 26 gauge, .85 ohms, cotton. These are decent tanks. They work ok. The vape ok. They do everything ... ok. Kind of the middle ground of tanks available currently in my opinion. They don't tolerate chain vaping at very high wattage, they don't allow for crazy cloud production, and they perform on a decent level until you go over 30 watts. They will tolerate mid 20 watt vaping very well. Filling is very easy with the screw in the bottom and not messy at all. Neither have ever leaked on me except when I screw up the wicking and it starts to flood. They do gurgle on occasion and if you draw on them REALLY hard, you can induce a leak from the air inlet because they flood. Only these two tanks do this...
$30-40 - Kayfun 3.1: My build - 24 Gauge, .55 ohms, cotton. Despite the center post being the same diameter at its most restrictive point as the KFL/R91, the KF3.1 is a far more open draw. The extra airflow helps it tolerate high power builds well. For mine, I had to increase the depth of the vertical juice channel as it was far too shallow. Other HCIGARs I have seen were not so shallow, nor are the authentic. After deepening the channels, it tolerates high power vaping very well! Great in all respects, this is on of my go to tanks, and I trust it on the go as my only carried tank far from home. No leaking, no gurgling, easy to wick fantastic in all regards. The only knock on it is the refill method. I hate the ball valve crap, so must fill from the top with air holes covered then catch threads and flip it before tightening the top of the tank. Kind of a pain, but not terrible.
Standard fare up until now, but lets get into the more interesting tanks and their quirks.
$90 - Expromizer: My build - 24 Gauge, .65 ohms, cotton. Taifun meets Kayfun meets China !! If you order one order the steel tank to replace the clear one! Clear tank is terrible and will probably leak/break over time. Ok the design is fantastic, but they are 23 mm sadly. The juice channels are very deep (DO NOT FILL THEM JUST WICK LIKE ANY OTHER KAYFUN). It doesn't leak and filling is as easy as spin off the tank, squirt juice into a very open space (no squeezing between the chimney base and tank wall) super easy. Never had it flood from pulling too hard. Never dry hits. Just plain works, and works well. What is odd about it though, is that compared to the Kayfun 3.1, with identical coils, wicks, and juice the Kayfun makes a touch more vapor, but the taste and throat hit from the two are identical. The built in china part is a tad disappointing, as the threads are a mixed bag. Some are perfect and super smooth, others are gritty and bleh.
$200 - Rose v2: My build - 30 Gauge, 2.1 ohms, cotton. Perfection in nearly every way. The ONLY draw back is that you cannot drill the air flow holes out over 2mm, there is simply not room inside the deck for a larger hole. The design has tight tolerances. It is a work of art. It is by far and away the best build piece of vaping gear I own, or have seen to date (I have handled and used quite a bit). Absolutely perfect quality and brilliant design. The reason it hasn't 100% replaced my other tanks..... the draw. The draw is too tight for me, but is lose enough for most people. The fact I cannot replace the drip tip with a venturi tip to compensate really infuriates me, so my wife uses it and loves it. She is super picky and dislikes all other RTA systems besides the rose. I have found the Rose tends to work best on a VV/VW device to perfectly match power to the build you have in it. While it will wick down into the .2 ohm dual coil area perfectly fine (70 watts works great, no dry hits), the vape is intolerably hot, at least for me, because of the lower air flow compared to other tanks
$30-40 - Fogger V4: My build - 24 Gauge, .4 ohms, cotton. Yiloon should have changed the name. Fogger, while very fitting to its' capabilities, is a name that has a stigma attached to it because of the first 3 pieces of garbage they produced. The Fogger v4 is nothing like those. It is an amazing bit of kit. Wicks like a fing champ, vapes like a champ, and will tolerate insane power builds. My all day vape build runs at 44 watts and is great! Smooth vape, tons of vapor, flavor is great! It has a few quirks though. First, the build area is fairly constrained because you are squeezing two coils and two wicking areas into a kayfun sized deck. While it isn't terribly hard, you are limited on the diameter of your micro coil because anything over 2.5mm will either touch the positive block or the chimney wall. Best bet is a 1.5mm coil, because the amount of cotton that fits through it is perfect to fill the channels and wick well without leaking. Adjust your wire diameter to hit your desired ohm load, but I have found 7 to 8 wraps of whatever gauge you want to use is best in this atty.
Final thoughts: In no way can I ever recommend buying a KFL/R91, period.
If you want a great system but are very budget constrained, get a Kayfun 3.1 or Fogger v4.
If you like very open draw, Fogger v4.
If you don't mind a tight draw, and have a big budget Rose v2.
If you want to mess with coils without losing juice Expromizer!
TL/DR; Get an Expromizer, Kayfun 3.1 clone, or Rose in that order. Skip the Kayfun lite (any variant) and russian 91%. All of these tanks have better performance stock than modular coil replacement tanks such as the Nautilus, Carto-tanks, Vivi Nova etc.
