Sorry, the pic is a bit small. But here are the issues:

1. I took the tube off the unit, and it's so hard to put it back on. Do I have to use a tweezers for this?

2. This might be pathetic, but I can't seem to disassemble the RM2 to get to the coil plate. I tried turning it counterclockwise, but it won't budge. Maybe my hand is too slippery?

3. THe O ring that comes with the RM2, do I just put it up on the REO where the 510 connection is? Or do I slip it under the RM2?

I have never taken the tube off mine, but have heard it is a little hard to put it back on. I think someone mentioned lubing it up with some juice to help it slide on a little easier, (that just sounds so wrong!!)... As for the o-ring, yes it sets in the top of the juice well and you might want to try wearing some rubber gloves to get the top cap off the RM2. You might also need to use some pliers to hold the 510 connector, (be sure to use something to protect the threads), to get it to turn... Hope this helps...

Put some juice on the tip of the tube.. Then line up the edge of the nipple with the hole in the tube but at an angle. Slowly turn the tube while applying upward pressure and cutting down the angle. It should slide on. There is no need to take the tube off.

Get some pliers and something to put between the pliers and the Rm2...a thick cloth, perhaps a piece of rubber. Use the pliers on the brass part thats been milled down. With the other hand turn the cap of the RM2 counter clockwise.

I used paper towel to get some grip on my RM2 cap and bottom when mine was tight and just twisted.

I've also not removed the tubing from the connector. I thought I had read that Rob does a dab of superglue to hold it in place?

BTW - welcome to the family and congrats on your first REO!

I don't think there's superglue, is there? My tubing comes right off the Reo with a little, itty bitty tug. In fact, when I swap juices, I pull out the bottle, tube and all and pop in a fresh, full assembly. At least on the metal Reos, I know the woods are glued in there...But, yeah, a little eliquid will help it pop back in, then shove it in as far as you can, it will hold, no gluing required.

Thanks for the help so far, all you guys.

Anyway, I got the "Black wrinkle" version. I have no idea what that surface finish is, but will it crack and chip with time?

Also, where can I get 16 gauge needle to build my coil? Does Home Depot carry it?

You don't NEED a 16ga needle. The needle is a nice suggestion, since many of us who DIY our juice will have those handy. A little screwdriver or a drill bit that is approx. 1/16" diameter will work. Probably the little screwdriver you'll need for the post screws will be an appropriate diameter.

ETA: Black wrinkle is nice, That's my first Reo (w/ hammered door). All finishes will have the ability to chip and get dinged over time. Mine is still pristine except for a tiny ding on the bottom corner from dropping it. You don't have to do anything, but I put the tiniest little drop of black model paint and applied it with a toothpick in the bare spot (because I like things PERFECT).

Actually if you watch Rob's rebuilding video he shows putting a dab of glue at the top of the tube after it's started on the nipple.

Weird, I know the Green Anodized one I have seems to be glued in. However, the very new Black Anodized and my Black Wrinkle (born in 2014) are definitely NOT glued in, or not very well. The tubes came off the first time I twisted the cap to removed the bottle. I figured they were not glued. It's a mystery we must solve!

i bought some ceramic paint to colour in dents on my grand, until it really took a beating and then i just bought a j-wrap to cover it.

Rob's video is and isn't misleading: you don't have to use superglue, and the rebuild video shows him cutting off the piece of 510 that the tube fits onto. Both are to save time. You can unscrew the nipple with some patience (so not me then!) and there is no need to use glue.

If it has not already been done - cut a "v" notch in the very bottom of your feed tube, the bit that is in the bottom of the feed bottle. Yes really.

Thanks, you guys are very helpful.

Just out of curiosity, is it a good idea to take apart that center philips screw right where the magnets are? I wonder what's underneath it...

No.... Not unless you are installing a new rebuild kit. I've heard that it can strip the threading fairly easy. Whats underneath is the firing pin assembly.

It's not a critical thing...some of my Reos with RM2's have them, some don't.It helps to line up the airhole of the RM2 away from your mouth, and, in case you tighten down too much the attie or RDA, it will help prevent messing up the 510 connector in the mod.
It does help with over-squonking and getting a little juice in the juice well, but it's not a big deal.

You'll become a pro at this in no time at all!

P.S. If you're having a hard time unscrewing the top cap from the base of the RM2, it could be that a thread or two has some tiny burrs on them...send Rob a message at his Reo site, if it's too difficult to get off and on....he'll fix you right up.

Believe it or not you can even call him! I was very nervous when I first did this, but now it seems like I'm just chatting with an old friend.

I glued mine back in like Robert does in video :) I didnt remove it this time when I cleaned it for you just ran some alcohol thru it to clean out tube and connector .I tend to pull hard on things like the Hulk that why mine was glued back in.

Depends, I take mine apart all the time, don't tighten it a lot since it's just a few threads in the back wall of the Reo. I hold the mini screw driver between my thumb and forefinger. When the screw stops turning I'm done. Resit the urge to give that little extra bit of tightness.
