My second Subox Mini not like the first

Wondering if anyone else has run into this, the second subox Mini has a couple of anomalies that are unlike the first. The first is a white edition purchased last September, the second a black edition purchased in December.

The battery negative pin catches while installing a battery. The pin manipulates easily if pressing manually but at the angle the battery hits it just locks up making it very tricky installing a battery.

When installing a battery into the first Mini the readout lights up, not so for the second Mini it stays unlit untill a button is pushed.

I've checked authenticity of both and they check out ok so now I'm wondering if QC is slipping.

On the battery pin, that may be a defect. Probably the most common for any battery operated product.
The readout thing sounds like a design change.. Having the device turn ON when installing the battery, sounds hazardous to me.

A good manufacturer will make changes to improve a device, hopefully. A good seller will help you on a defective product they sold you.

QC isn't slipping, just because you got a defect. Defects, happen, Been going on that way since people started making things for other people. The more you make the harder it is to prevent defects.
