The very first thing you will need to do is...........relax.

510 tank Cartos:

Lay down a paper towel then remove the dropper off your bottle of juice or an empty bottle of juice and place to bottle on the paper towel.

If your tank is completely full, like to the absolute top full and you are using a 510 Tank Carto take a straightened out paper clip set it aside where it will be handy. Next, simply push down on the Drip Tip. This should give you enough room to grab the flange at the base of the cartomizer.

Now insert the paper clip though the Cartomizer until it protrudes a little above the polyfill material. While holding the flange remove the Drip Tip, you should see the tip of the straigtened out paper clip at the top of air tube.

The purpose of the paper clip is to block off the air tube since the top of the cartomizer is going to be submerged in the juice for a brief moment. You want to twist the Cartomizer clockwise or counter clockwise while backing it out. This will avoid pulling it straight out which in many cases results in dislodging the bottom cap.

Only pull the carto down far enough so that the top of Cartomizer is a little below the bottom of the Top Cap. With the exception of the current Kalabash/Silicon Drip Tips, take the Drip Tip and insert into the top of the tank so that the Drip Tip O-ring and the inner Top Cap O-ring are flush with each other.

With the tank in one hand and your juice bottle in the other simply pour the contents of your tank into your bottle, then remove the Cartomizer. The current stock of Kalabash Drip Tips have a smaller diameter O-ring and will not seat securely or flush with inner O-ring inside the Top Cap. Silicone Drip Tips have no O-Ring and their diameter make them too small for this application. So if you have a different styled Drip Tip, like the one that came with the tank....use it.

Remember, the O-rings just have to be flush we are not trying to push the Drip Tip O-ring past the inner top cap O-ring. If you tank isn't completely full, just do everything above and skip the "paper-clip".

No need since all you need to do is back the cartomizer out enough for juice to flow out the top of the tank. As long as the top of the Carto is above the juice you are in good shape an juice won't flood the air tube and start leaking out of the bottom of the cartomizer.

KR808 Tank Cartos:

Everything is basically the same as above however KR Tank Cartos don't protrude out of the top of the tank as far as 510 cartos do. This can make it difficult to get a secure hold onto the flange before twisting it out. So here's another trick...

Again, let's grab a paper clip...except this time we are going to bend it out in the shape of a V.

While holding the tube and bottom cap securely, gently push down on the Drip Tip, this should back the Carto out about 2mm. Then slide both sides of the V'd paper clip under the flange and remove the Drip Tip. While securing the Bottom Cap gently pry the Carto out enough so you grab the flange securely.

Remove the paper clip and while holding the Bottom Cap and Tank tube slowly twist the Carto and back it out of the tank until the top of the Carto is below the bottom of the Top Cap.

This will give us enough room to pour out the juice. Insert the Drip Tip, as noted above (Kalabash/Silicone Drip Tip warning applies) into the Top Cap, aligning the O-rings and pour out your juice into the bottle.

Things to remember:

Don't panic

Always wet the Carto or the Drip Tip before installing it into the tank.

Always twist the Carto when inserting it or removing it.

Avoid pinching or damaging the O-ring or possibly dislodging the Bottom Cap.

Always set the Tank down on a flat surface and without covering the Drip Tip hole, twist it into the Cartomizer with downward force.

This may be true, but no matter how skittish one might be, there just isn't too much to these tanks... Just simple plumbing really, except the carto itself, but there is likely more knowledge and experience with cartos themselves so less of an issue.

If you break it down, there are only a few things to get the hang of in my view:

* Knowing the voltage and capability of your equipment, and which carto types (single/dual, the various available ohm ratings) work with which devices (mainly, the 1.5ohm tank that comes stock on the tank seems to lead to some confusion because it doesn't work well on all devices)

* How to gently push the carto down with the DT so you can pull it slightly further down in order to fill it, while bracing the end caps as needed to avoid them popping out. (And while I haven't experienced this, for some, some gentle counterpressure on the bottom of the carto so it doesn't come flying all the way out..)

* How to take dry hits to prime the carto when it is brand new / dry (via dry hitting while covering the battery-hole end with your finger, then looking for bubbles, and a small decrease in the level in the tank when you're done taking several dry hits)

* How to push the carto gently back up to reassemble (while properly bracing the end caps, not just holding the tube itself!!), and bracing the bottom / putting on a flat surface while reinserting the DT.

* How to drain a full tank if you have carto failure or other reason to do so (gently push carto down as though refilling, but re-insert DT, hold in place with other hand, tilt over and pour back into bottle)

I did not include actually getting juice into the tank, dripping drops into new cartos before priming or carto troubleshooting because those parts seem really straightforward and I haven't seen as many questions on those. A big thank you to Mr Snowdragon and Mr Morandir for teaching me all this stuff!

Cool beans Blue, my pleasure!

Thanks Joyce, see what you started!

Hey...people with Syringes...did you ever think that not everybody has a syringe? As a matter of fact only a very small percentage of folks do and guess what? This is not for them. This is for the other 95% of Vapers that don't have syringes and should be worth noting by syringe users since there are times we get caught away from home without a syringe.

As a syringe user (not so much anymore) I generally do not note syringes in how-to videos or when giving advice. I believe that it is important to learn how to do things without one first since a syringe is a convenience not a requirement.

I agree that syringes are a convenience and not a requirement, but I feel as strongly about their use for this endeavor as I do their use for filling a blank regular carto. They are quick, easy, less messy, and I personally am less likely to waste juice from spillage. Without a syringe, I would have been stuck filling my regular cartos by the condom method, and we all know how that goes. ;)

Wow....that was weird...I installed No Scripts earlier and it didn't play well with editor...bye bye No Scripts!

Ha I used noscript for all of a month before I realized that it was tuning me to hit allow continuously. It's alot like the are you sure you want to install or you need administrative privileges to install this program. Eventually you get so used to how annoying it is that you just hit; yes... yes... yes... damnit yes....

I hear you that it can get annoying, and you can become trained to ignore it... While the initial white-listing is a pain, once you've hit all your favorite sites once, your list is built and it doesn't keep asking you about them...

If you are in the habit of browsing many other sites that happen to require javascript, and you end up turning it on all the time anyway (instead of finding another site that does the same thing without using javascript, which I do if I have the time and don't know the site well enough to trust it), then yes there is no point in having it since it isn't protecting you from anything...
