I use SmokeTip with cartos for driving, and a 901 atty on my SmokeTip battery+dripping = vaping heaven!

I started with 801's. My friend started with 510's. I had tried his a few times and liked it, but he complained all the time about the cartridges and hassle of dripping. He discovered the blue foam straw mod thingy and it's better now though.
I was also curious about cartos, so I got me an 801 to 510 adapter and a pack of empty 510 cartos. the hard style ones. I used a method I saw on youtube to fill them using the little rubber but plugs they come with. hehe. Easy to fill and I really dig it. Hardly any hassle. I fill 3 cartos up in the morning and that's good for the day. No leaking. Just works. The flavor isn't quite as nice as dripping on a 801 or 510 atomizer, but the convenience of the cartomizer is worth it to me.
