Scottbe, why is the cone nessesary?

I believe the cone performs a few of functions.

It restricts the airflow for the atomizer.... this tightens up the draw a little it and makes it more difficult to draw too much air though the unit.

It draws the incoming air charge over the atty body... which pre-heats the air a bit before it enters the atomizer.

It insulates the atomizer.... notching up the overall atomizer temperature a bit and simultaneously reducing the viscosity of the juice in the atty and tip of the cartridge.

Running the eGo/Tornado without the cone is a noticeably different experience.

I got the eGo and it does come with the rapid usb charger. The battery life is incredible, I have not logged the time but needless to say 2 batteries last me more than all vaping time in a day. I do suggest getting the mag cart/atty's for the added juice capacity when you are out and about. I use a foam mod in the carts (28 drops) and they work great. The cone does make a difference in the draw and is better with the cone.

No negatives about this unit.

If I can weigh in on the whole who has the better deal thing I have to say that at least for me it is TW by a landslide.

An extra atty which if you buy singles is worth $10 to $15
5 extra carts which if you buy "blanks" are anywhere from $2.50 to $5
plus the 7.5% TW coupon code.

the charger does not add lots of weight to the Janty side for me because I tend to charge my stuff overnight anyway and while the warranty is awesome I'm one of those lazy people that most of the time would never take advantage of it even if I did have it.

I considered my options pretty carefully when I picked between the two.

Great pv and Janty makes money on the deal no matter what.

Once again I have to stress that this opinion is for my case only, if you go through the battery life on the tornado/ego quickly or if you will take the time to send back your dead attys after 5 months then perhaps the Janty version is best for you.

I get a solid 4 hours out of my eGo/Tornado. 5 if I'm distracted and vaping "lightly".

Those numbers are completely consistent with my expectations based on my previous 510 experiences. I would get about an hour on a standard 510 manual.. and about 2 hours on a Mega. All that math is about right.

Interesting: Scottbee, I think you are the first person who is reporting battery life per charge for the eGo similar to what I expected when compared to the 510 standard batts.

I wonder then what is different between your findings and kevbow's review. I thought he said 10 hours total vaping time before recharging. I guess it all comes down to vaping style.

Regardless 4 solid hours is impressive, spread over the day and you are covered with one batt.

Personally I didn't think I'd need/want the rapid charger either. Quickly found out that I was wrong. I either need the rapid charger, or more than 2 batteries since I can vape a battery dead before the second one is charged.

Problem solved... I have more batteries and rapid chargers on order (overkill).
Yeah good choice, I'm a fan of the blunt instrument method of problem solving myself.

The 5 packs are an insanely good deal @ less than $16 per battery, I'm going to see if a buddy of mine wants to split an order.

For chargers I'm going to go with the $3.99 adapters since I have about five 510 chargers laying around the house thanks to Cignot starter kits, lol!

When somebody talks about very long or very short battery life I always like to hear home many ml of liquid they go through a day. Usually there is a very good correlation there (as one would expect).

"I guess it all comes down to vaping style"

This is true. In an hours time I will take a good 6 or 7 hits then put it down for about 10 sometimes 15 minutes. Then take a good 6 or 7 hits again. That's pretty much how I vape throughout the day. If your a chain vaper and hitting it every minute then obviously the hours you would get out of the battery would be much less. The 10 1/2 hours was based on my vaping style.

Well it was an easy choice for me...Janty US has no stock now in any color, plus with TW the extra atomizer and 10 carts is a bonus for me since I travel sometimes and can't pre-fill before I go. Picked up the rapid charger too. Either one would be a great choice, and the longer warranty would be nice. I've heard great things about Janty and am sure I will try one of their products one day. Just didn't work out this time.

Can't wait to try it!

Hey. I have been lurking around these forums for some time and need to post because of my experience with the Tornado and Totally Wicked. Lets just say this this PV is the bomb!

I have been vaping for about 3 months with a 510. Overall, it has been a great experience. I was a fairly light smoker (compared to some), when drinking or driving (no not drinking and driving at the same time).

I love my 510. It does everything I want it to do and has been a great start to the world of vaping. My only complaint is the battery life. My experience is that I would be changing batteries about 10 times a day. In comes my next purchase, the Tornado for TW.

First, my experience with TW was great. Fast shipping, great email communication and my order arrived as expected with no issues. I have nothing but positive things to say about TW.

The Tornado (or Ego as per Janty) is a wonderful PV! Compared to my 510, the vape is much more complex. Better throat hit, better flavor and better vapor compared with the 510. And this Tornado is a great looking PV. I have nothing but positive things to say thus far. The big thing I will be looking for is the battery life. Many have posted a lot of different battery experiences with the the Tornado/Ego. I will update this after a few days with my experience and hope that the battery life with take away all my previous 510 concerns.

Here's to all the vapors out there. This appears to be one great items.

Ok, so first impressions....

As with every other kit I have ever purchased I tossed the first batt on the charger and hooked the other up to test it out (this kit arrived just in time, my last 510 battery just died on me). I did a few test hits to burn off the primer and then started hitting it normal. I was very dissapointed in the almost invisible amount of vapor and the very weak flavor. I hit it for a few more minutes and it was the same. I was fairly sure I had already removed all the primer but it still was not hitting.

I tossed the 2nd battery on the charger (my 510 usb charger works fine with it) and gave it 40 minutes while I was reading this thread and talking to ridewithme (tornado owner). He said his worked great. I took my batt off and tried it again. Major difference this time. I actually got a nice hit and decent flavor. After about 40 more minutes I put that batt back on the charger and took the one that had been charging the full time and tried it. Even better vapor and nice TH. I do not see how these batteries can have no dropoff yet work so bad while low on charge but they do. I guess I am spoiled by myshkin (rockymountainvapor.com) as he has never shipped me a kit/battery that was not 90-95% charged and expected similar results.

My second impression is much better than my first and as its been said, these do hit much better than a stock 510. If it continues to improve with charge, I might be a fan in the morning (heading off to bed right now).

One last thing. It has been mentioned that the button is the major con of this unit by a few others. I will agree that it is cheap, ugly and sticks out too much (I anticipate pocket firing with it) and I think the worst part will be that the cone makes it harder to unscrew the batt a little. I often do this when I pocket my 510 to avoid pocket firing. I would like some sort of safety screw/switch for this to make up for this. Maybe the next version of this unit could fix this issue.
