So according to my calculator that I have on my igoogle page I've been vaping 7 weeks, 5 days and 6 hours.

It's been an interesting journey for me, probably not you:). All started when my wife sent me a link to an article on e-cigs. I thought I remembered hearing about them before but didn't give it too much thought. Just figured it was a gimmick.

I've been a smoker for about 20 years, 1 -1/2 pks a day and I was really hating it, and feeling it. I'd tried to quit a bunch of times using different methods but nothing worked for more than a 2 weeks. I was at the point where I wanted to quit but didn't feel like I had any willpower to do so.

Along came that link in the email and the research began. It didn't take more than a day or two of looking into ecigs to realize I thought this could work for me. I figured even if I used them for a while it would be better than smoking analogs.

I made the decision to purchase a "kit" of 510s and check them out. At the same time I bought a sampler from JC. Thought I'd try the ecig and maybe in time (maybe a week or month) give it a shot to ween myself off analogs. I went into it knowing it would be different than analogs, but expecting it to be similar. I really looked forward to seeing first hand if it would live up to the hype.

Got the 510 order about 2:30 in the afternoon. Took a draw and smiled, amazed that this device could replicate smoking as good as it did. For me I though I would need not just the nicotine but the action of smoking and definitely the inhale/exhale of something.

I vaped till 5 with a pretty heavy buzz from all the nicotine the included 24mg carts gave me. At home, at 6 I lite up an analog for comparison. Wow, that tastes like ... I thought. Took a few more drags and put it out.

Next day used the 510, a lot, even more after the JC order came in:p

2 weeks go by without too much of an urge for an analog, though I felt like I cheated myself and never had the "last one".

After about 2 weeks I had already ordered Nhaler liquid, 510 stuff from china with some liquid, and started to mod the carts. I also went through a serious nic fit. I let the fit continue over the weekend and chain vaped until monday when I said screw it. Better to have one analog than chain-vape. I had it, it was good but tasted like crap, didn't give me the lung hit I thought I would get, made me buzzed??, immediately gave me a itch in my throat and I stunk like and tasted smoke for hours after. It did however satisfy that craving, which after 2 weeks wasn't just from nicotine.

That was the "last one". Till I decide to have another, which I have no real desire for. Still have the pack in my desk, just getting stale. What amazes me is that I can have a pack of analogs next to me and not want one.

So here I am at 7 + weeks. I've replaced my analog habit with a vaping habit. I'm ok with that for now. I like that I can adjust my nic level and plan to lower over time.

If people say they are impressed I quit smoking I tell them I didnt quit, it's more like I switched brands. To me I believe I switched to something much better for me.

Hardware wise I no longer use the 510. I got sick of the carts leaking, not wicking well, crappy battery life, and most of all the burnt taste.

I now use the M402. I got the EVO, Innovapors M402 (and pcc), and just today an M402 with a PCC from absolutleyecigs.

From what I've used so far through this whole process I think the 402 is far better for me than the 510, just my opinion. And after a very very short time with the M402 from Absolutleyecigs I think I've found my new favorite.

For now...

I will not however start getting into the voltage mods. I want to quit the vaping habit eventually and think I'll like high voltage way too much.

Anyway, thank you to all of you on this forum. It's been such a valuable resource for me in the short amount of time I've been here.

Congrats!! I just passed the 7-week mark myself. I never thought much about that "last one", particularly since they switched us to the FSC's and they tasted like old tennis shoes. I too am amazed that I can have a pack in my desk drawer, in my glove compartment and in my workbench in the garage, and have absolutely no desire to light one up. There's no way on earth I'd have been able to do that with any other method. I keep thinking I should throw them out, but I'm still relishing that small victory.

I feel the exact same way. I didn't really "quit" anything; at least it doesn't feel like I quit.

After only 2 weeks now (with the 510), I am not only analog free, but not craving tobacco at all.

The inventor(s) of this product deserve, in my opinion, a Nobel prize or something. This product may have saved my life.

Hi and thank you for the responses.

I've used about ten joys 510s. They do have a good throat hit and it was the model to get me off analogs but my dislikes are as follows.
Burnt taste - seems I could never prevent it. I tried a bunch of different things
Leaking carts- if they are overfilled even by a drop they would leak. I ruined a few auto batteries like this.
Inconsistient hit- one draw would be good then the next wouldn't provide much at all.
Juice in mouth.
Battery life was poor.
Size bigger than I like.
Carts wouldn't last nearly as long as they should given the large size.
The m402, for me, is better in all those ways. Even though both the battery and the cart is smaller they last longer.

I'm hoping I continue to like this model. I'd rather stick with it than spend a bunch more $$ on a new model and accessories.

If these wear out over time I may check out the 702.

To me HV isn't a good option. I'll like it too much and I would like to save money using a PV:)
I also like the similar size to an analog.

Good luck.

sms ... I enjoyed reading your story. I too share your opinions on the 510 vs 401. But for me, my main vape has been the Penstyle units. I like the longer battery life and the larger carts. But, to each his own. I have always said ... if everyone liked all the same things, what a boring world we be living in.

Congratulations on your successful vaping journey !!
