First of all I would like to say hi to everyone in this great community and thank you for all the resources here that has helped me through these early days of vaping.
I've been a hard core smoker for the last 3 decades and 30-40 stick smoker in the last 2.
I first saw an e-cig about a year ago. A very good friend of mine got into it and as typical to any cynical, hardcore nicotine addict, I gave him a hard time.
He continued to progress along as his device started looking more hi tech, from a pencil thin tube to something bigger with an LCD display(yes it was an e-vic). And the vapor that was coming out of it was also getting bigger in volume. Still I never relented in giving him a hard time about it. Besides, he still bums a stick of cigarette from me every once in a while.
Then about 2 months ago, I don't know why but I really had this urge to stop smoking but really didn't know where to start. So I decided to give the e-cig a go. Asked my friend what to get. He just gave me his old e-vic, with a Vivo Nova tank and a 30ml of Berry juice with 12mg of nic.
With my tail between my legs I thanked him and proceeded to charge the thing and fill up the tank. As you can imagine, I was still very reluctant to believe in it.
Fully charged and filled up, I proceeded to take my very first draw.
As I remember it, I wasn't exactly blown away, it felt really strange and I was still sort of missing the amount of smoke I get from a normal cigarette. But surprisingly, I didn't hate it. And besides, I already told myself if I get into this, I might as well stick to it.
I promised myself no matter what I won't smoke a normal cigarette in the first 3 days to give this e-cig a shot. I fumbled my way through those three days, charging, filling up, making a mess, burning up the coil(which I had no idea was supposed to be replaced regularly), juice all over my pocket. I survived. I even went out to our favorite watering hole where you can smoke to see if I can last the night without lighting up. I got the heckling of my life from my friends as expected but then it only helped me stand firm and continue vaping. I survived the 3 days.
On the fourth day I finished my juice, bought my very first one but decided to try out 6mg of nic instead of 12. To my surprise, I couldn't tell the difference.
So on I went the rest of the week vaping on but at the same time trying to find out as much as I can about my new found activity.
I started ordering stuff, specially that i was running out of coils. Got a Kanger Aerotank mega. Loved it. I was getting more clouds from the e-vic. And at the same time, I can now really taste the juice.
But knowing myself I knew I needed to know more and experiment, try new things out, discover different ways of enjoying vaping.
So 2 weeks after, I got my first kanthals, silica wick, organic cotton, Kayfun clones, 30watt variable mods, extra batteries, chargers, drill bits...
And now the madness truly starts...
