My VV Grand arrived a few days ago and I was extremely excited to try it out. I left a note on my mailbox asking USPS to leave the package from REOS mods along with my hand written signature. Thankfully, they did and it saved me a trip to the PO.
Ive been intrigued by higher voltage / higher ohm since I started. Some of you may remember my post about the 14v pass-though I made for my Mini using 5ohm cartos. The VV Grand was the next step.
The VV Grand arrived at a bad time for me. I was loving my current setup of a Grand w/ 1.5 HH357, but I had to give the VV a try.
First I verified the output voltage went from 3 to 5.5, then I threw a brand new HH357 2.5 on the VVG and went to town. I broke in the atty just like any other. I set the dial to somewhere in the middle. The vape was great, just like when put a new atty on my regular Grand.
After it was producing vapor (HH357), I started playing with the voltage. I went from lowest and worked my way up until it was good. Then, for the heck of it I moved it to the highest. It was then I noticed the flavor didnt change much, what did change was the "draw time" needed for a good vape. The higher voltage meant more vapor in less time for me, just like my 14v setup, which would give a huge plume in half a second! Flavor didnt change though.
I still carry both my regular Grand and VVG for now. My regular Grand still works great, and I still like the vape it produces. Right now, Im not sure the VVG will replace the good old 3.7/1.5 Grand.
What I do like about the VVG is the side switch.
One thing I noticed about the VVG is the top battery can shift off contact if knocked. Not enough to disconnect, but enough to notice.
