OK long story short, i ordered some aw imr 18350 and the shipping is taking longer than expected so I went to the local Vapor shop and bought a 18350 to hold me over till my package arrives. The battery is a blue and unmarked and im just trying to see if anyone knows who makes them, if there imr? Icr? The person a the vapor shop didnt know, must have been new! Any help is greatly appreciated.

Ok there the same batterys that ship with the lava tube mini, i beleive. So there IMR batterys.

Then the battery you bought is probably a BDL IMR. ---> And I can comment a bit on them.

BDL 18650s are to be avoided from a performance standpoint. A lot has been said about BDLs here on ECF and plenty of places elsewhere. The 18650s just aren't very good and that fact has made most everyone assume their other batts are junk too. The 18350s have been way better according to both those who I've read commenting on them and according to my own experience with them. I've been using them in my triple-v for about a year, and I've used them occasionally in my REO VVW. I also used them in my short rough stack. All with great success. Load tests I did put them on par with the AWs, and my observations on run time suggest they have somewhat more capacity than the AW. --- My only concern is that BDL has a reputation for using second quality cells in their bigger batteries. I sometimes wonder if I just got lucky with the ones I bought being so good.

I just found this while looking for a AW IMR battery and remembered this thread, so here is a copy and paste along with the link. I will be using what ProVape recommends, the AW IMR. Hope this answers your question.

There are 3 categories of rechargeable lithium cells:

Red cell, safe/unprotected (IMR - available from Oveready)
Black cell, unsafe/protected (LiCo with PCB - available from Oveready)
Blue cell, unsafe/unprotected (LiCo without PCB - not available from Oveready)

The 2nd type are popular because they offer the most capacity while being safer to use than type 3. But PCBs use electronics which can break under extreme conditions and like a circuit breaker in your home, PCBs can turn off your cell when you least expect it - sometimes permanetly.
