Heard rumors about PG and VG that i just wanted to clarify and get facts

Myth or Fact -PG is better on lower voltage vapes as VG is better on Higher voltage vapes due to viscosity of VG(what i heard is that it tends to ruin cartos and atties on lower voltage setups because it "gunks up" and the lower voltage PV's cant adequately heat up to vape it)

If someone could get back to me with the facts i would greatly appreciate it

imb1610,

Much depends on how the VG is cut/diluted. VG that is cut with H2O at about an 80:20 ratio is about the same viscosity as most PG. Imo, the gunkiness for fillers in cartos and carts and around coils is more about the particulates in certain flavors - the darker flavors tend to have more particulates that cling to all parts and reduce the draw, gunk up the coil for less efficiency and can burn more easily.

That said if the VG isn't diluted, the viscosity could be a problem BUT... there is virtually no '100% VG' ejuices because some of the components are the actual nicotine content and the flavoring - even though those 'bases' can be VG the actual nic and flavor isn't. And even with ejuices that are called 'VG', most 'bases' for nicotine and flavoring are PG even though the main 'blend base' is VG. There are noted exceptions to that with vendors who are attentive to PG allergies where they ensure the nic and flavor bases are also VG, but even then those bases are cut with H2O ususally.

Better is a hard word to apply to all things.

Most Cartos/Attys/CE2's work "Better" with thinner e-Liquids at Any Voltage. So many People like Higher Ratio PG e-Liquids because it works Better for Them.

"Gunking" is a Problem for Everyone. What most people find is that Clear Non-Sweetened e-Liquids tend to "gunk up" less than Dark Very Sweet e-Liquids.

One thing Everyone agrees on is...

More PG = More TH
More VG = More Vapor

For me, I chose a e-liquid and CE2's that tastes good when I vape it. That happens to be Very Sweet 30%PG|70%VG with 2.6~2.8 ohm CE2's @ 3.7~3.9 volts..

I use this combination because it Tastes Good and not for it's performance or how fast it "gunks" up my CE2's.

And this e-Liquid at this Voltage/Ohm does "Gunk" up a CE2 Very Quickly.
