Hey guys,
It's my B-day next week so I've decided to upgrade my old original eGo setup to a RoughStack. The battery configurations have been causing me a little stress but I think I have it worked out. Below I'm going to post what I plan to purchase by EOB today and I just wanted to get the more well informed communities opinion of what I think to be an intelligent purchase (sarcasm intended as I have no confidence in my decisions here lol). :p

Military Green Maxi RoughStack V2

http://www.amazon.com/UltraFire-300...FU62/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1320065735&sr=8-1 this would be $15 after shipping.

Thanks in advance for any info given.

I've got a Maxi RS and it's a solid mod. I've dropped mine on concrete twice, sanded the rough edges and kept vapin'! The switch position requires that you use a shorty extension to handle wider mega cartos and tanks, but I use XL 1.7ohm dual coils on it all day. You might want to order a shorty extension at the same time just in case you want to try something fatter out later.

I've also got those "ultrafire" batteries in a trade only to find out that particular model (red, 3000mah) is frequently relabelled/fake - the telltale sign is misspelling on the battery "...sheef life around 10years.Environmental friendly". They do work OK, but are probably far less than 3000mah. I have an AW IMR 2200mah battery that lasts about twice as long. That said, they do work OK and with a charger are a good inexpensive start.

In terms of minimum size and simplicity as well as a really fair price, nothing compares to the Maxi RS. It's a perfect tool for me and if I lost it I'd buy another! And Happy Birthday too!

Thanks 440426 ;-)

@ Liv2Ski I will probably go ahead and get those, which charger do you have or does it not matter?

I use the wf-188 and the TR-001. Both work well for the price and the wf-188 will also allow you to charge 3.0V batts too. Good call on the shorty connector since it limits the wear and tear on MOD threads

Take the advice given and don't bother with the 3000mah Ultrafires. They're a low drain batt and are way overrated. The AW's will perform much better. Be sure to get at least 2 batt's. I've got a Maxi Roughstack V1 and had problems with the switch, and it seems to be a common problem if you read the Madvapes forum. I'd suggest you keep an extra switch on hand as a spare unless you've got another backup rig.

You where right but luckily I bought them as a backup to the AW's I purchased first. Thanks for the recommendation.

Yeah those batteries def suck. They sell them on eBay too and the majority of them are fake. Personally Im not a fan of the ultrafire batteries in a PV. The Trustfres arnt that great either, but their alittle better.

The TR-001 charger is def the way to go. Its cheap and works well, plus allows you to charge 2 batteries at once.

What Batteries did you get? Did you get the IMR High-Drains or just the regular AW batteries. The High-Drain batteries are def the way to go for an unregulated PV like the RS. The High-Drains will give you a more consistant vape for longer as the battery drains. RTDVapor and Super T manufacturing both have them. I like Super T bc their shipping is only $1.70.

Goodluck with it and I hope you enjoy your new toy!
