So, I'm just starting to get into mech's with RDAs.

I've thus far learned to build quality coils and have learned the nuances of wicking.

I have been using my Plume Veil on an eVic Supreme. Not the best combination as the eVic won't fire anything below .5Ω. Nonetheless, I have really been enjoying it and I was one of those guys that was like, "What's the point with dripping. It seems like such a hassle."

So, this last week, I have been running a .78Ω dual coil in the Plume Veil on the eVic. Not bad. Not bad at all. I was pretty proud of myself actually. Ha!

Even though I own a Nemesis clone topped with a TOBH clone, I wasn't using it that much. From what I remember, I had a .67Ω dual coil in it.

Well, today I received an authentic Nemesis.

Wow! No comparison to the clone. I haven't taken apart the switch yet to see if it is using springs or magnets but it works wonderfully. So much better than the clone that I upgraded with magnets. The threads are very noticeably smoother as well with no squeaking. The logos are much deeper and shouldn't wear off as I expect the clone's will eventually. Not trying to knock clones but in my case, I have gotten what I paid for. Very pleased with this purchase.

Ok, on to my point of this thread. Now that I have a mech that I trust, I know that I am not limited to .5Ω anymore. I am only limited by my batteriy's amperage output (Sony VTC5's). So, I took the Plume Veil off the eVic, removed the old coils, washed it up and installed new coils. 7 wraps on 2mm (or so) with 26g and got the following reading...

Wicked her up. Primed her. Took a hit and Holy $#|+!!! 41w through a .4Ω coil is WAY better than 24w through a .8Ω coil. Amazing flavor and what a fog machine!

I am just having so much fun today learning new things with first hand experience.

Laugh all you want but even though I knew it had to be better, experiencing it first hand has really started to open my eyes.

Just a new experience by a n00b that wanted to share.

Vape on my friends. :vapor:

Congrats on the Nemesis. I have 3 of them. They are great mods. My advice, or maybe it's more a word of caution: Just because you can go lower now doesn't necessarily mean that you have to, or should you. I've been dripping quite a while, and I don't go below .45 or so. .45 to .5 ohms seems to be my sweet spot for most of the stuff I vape. Have fun experimenting. Sounds like you have a good handle on it so far.

Thanks Rule62.

I definitely have a handle on what I am doing. Believe me, I have studied here on ECF and other sites about battery safety, ohms law, etc. Currently, on my 20A continuous battery, I am pulling no more (fully charged battery @ 4.2v) than 10.25A. Well within the VTC5's specifications. I certainly wouldn't try to push this battery with, say, anything below a .28Ω coil on any mech mod.

To tell the truth though, even after vaping all afternoon/evening on my very airy Plume Veil with it wide open, it is getting a little warm for me and I believe I will increase the resistance on my next build. I'm still searching for my sweet spot on this particular RDA.

It's just that I have found something new and am enjoying the experience. Yes, I am excited, but I am most assuredly safe about what I am doing.

Quite honestly, as much as I post in this sub forum, I didn't think I needed to preface my thread about my battery knowledge.

Anyway, I'm having fun. Vape on and have a good night!

[edit] Now that I think about it, I guess the word "N00b" in my title was a little inappropriate. My apologies. [/edit]
