Hello! Noob from Houston TX here.

I have been an on and off smoker for almost 30 years, and I want to ditch the cancer sticks but still love the experience of smoking.

I picked up a crummy disposable kit at the local stop-n-rob, and while it was pretty worthless, it was enough to convince me that this just might be a viable option. A week later a business trip took me to Dallas so I stopped in at DFW Vapor (The Best US E-Liquid Made | DFWvapor.com, The Best US E-Liquid Made!) and they hooked me up with a Joye eCab and some bottles of juice. Very helpful bunch of folks.

Still haven't completely dropped the coffin nails, but I've cut them WAY down already, and they are starting to taste seriously awful compared to my vape. :) I think once I get the hang of drawing on this thing and can get a consistent hit I'll be a lot happier. Just hard to re-shape 30 years of smoking habits. All that said, this beats the heck out of patches, gum, and all the other garbage.

Thanks for the welcome (there, I'm already up to 2 posts!) Right now I don't even know what to ask, just reading a lot. Right now I have 2 "sweet" juices and a "tobacco" juice. I figured out pretty quickly that my mood drives my taste buds so I am switching back & forth. I also tried mixing some "sweet" in with the tobacco to soften it a bit and really like that.

Has anyone tried combining a low-dose nicotine patch with vaping to ease the transition? My goal is to get to as low a nicotine level as possible (or eventually to zero). Just curious.

Hi and Welcome!

I think it would be a better idea just to go to a higher nic level if you are struggling. Don't worry too much about lowering your nic at the beginning, it is just important to get off the smokes. What nic level are you currently using? Also keep in mind that nicotine is the main factor in the throat hit you get. Like someone mentioned WTA juice is also an option. I have never tried it but a lot of people need it to make the transition easier.
Good luck!

Hi No4Mk1! What's the nic level in your juice? You might want to go higher instead of using the patch. If you're still struggling you could try the WTA (whole tobacco alkaloid) juice from Aroma. It's made a huge difference for me.

I have tried a couple of different nicotine levels, from 6 up to 18. The 18 was a little too harsh on throat hit, and I would "overshoot" with that and end up feeling crappy from too much nicotine. Right now I am vaping a mix that is half and half 6/18, so I suppose it averages out to 12. Thanks for the tips!

if u like the sweet and tobacco flavors, then u should try a real good "ry4" it hits the spot. just make sure u grab it from a good supplier to get the best taste. i myself am happy with the "ry4" that Liberty Flights sells. If any one has tasted a better "ry4" from somewhere else, please do tell.

Welcome aboard! I smoked analogs for 18 years and started vaping 2 weeks ago. I started off with a Green Smoke PV a couple years back, but never really liked it. It sat in my drawer for a couple of years and saw it a few weeks ago. Then I decided to give it another try. After some reading I ended up getting a Lavatube with tank and have not looked back. A VV is great as you can control how harsh the hit is.

I already have convinced 2 other people to try vaping and give up the cancer sticks. We shall see how this goes.
