Man I cant get rid of this taste everytime I take a hit on my pv, I don't know if all my juices went bad or what. Both my halo tritons and mvp put out this god awful taste. It's so bad that I cant inhale the vape completely. All my juices store bought and home made does this. I thought it was my coils so I rebuilt them. The first hit is ok but after that its back to a metallic taste, like a slight stinging on the tongue and weird taste in my thoat.

Anyone else get this, Never had this happen before till today.

I've only been vaping steadily for about six weeks. So logic dictated to me it was vapers tongue. It's been just over a week now and it's getting on my bristols. Strangely though, it started exactly the same time I got an Aerotank.

I'm just using of a bunch of juices I already knew I didn't like, instead of wasting decent stuff.

The Kanger dual coil tanks have been having issues with overcooking juices giving a dryish aluminum like taste due to wicking issues mainly with high vg juices. My Local shop won't carry them because of it. However, if it is vapors tongue switching to a strong flavor like a coffee for a few hits and switching back helps.

One thing I noticed is there is a residue that vaping leaves behind I found by goofing around and filling a glass with a cloud, sealing it and seeing how long the cloud lasts. It leaves behind a sugar crystal like residue that dissolves fast with just water. I know from my own experience that salivation levels have increased since I stopped using analogs but for the first couple weeks and another week maybe two months later or so all but the first hit or two tasted flat, dry and semi metallic. I figure vapors tongue happens because the salivary glands are still readjusting and don't make enough spit to keep this residue at bay. Akin to cottonmouth.

Yeah, I read that several ingredients in analogs basically restrict saliva production. When you switch to producing vapor in your mouth instead of drying out your saliva glands with cigs, it simply takes time for your body to readjust. This can take longer depending on how long you've been smoking.

I figure it's taken me 28 years to finally quit cigs for good, so allowing my body to go through various adjustments is only fair tbh. Seems like I'll still come out of it the big winner.

But I'll be ...... off if it's some reaction to brushed stainless steel instead.

This is great advice, especially for newbies. Those of us who smoked for years and years need to remember that vaping may not be an overnight "fix", and that it does take time for our bodies and minds to adjust to the physical and mental aspects of vaping.:)

I just got some juices from a B&M and have the same metallic taste. I'm vaping on a mini pt2. I've tried other juices and they are all good, no metallic taste. So I figured it's definitely gotta be the juice. I took one of the flavor wicks out and barely cut my juice with Glycerin I picked up at Wally World and almost all the metallic taste is gone.

Let's us know how it works out for you.

On any Kanger tank(maybe other bcc tanks too) if its more than 30% vg you will get bland almost metallic hits due to low juice in the coil especially on the first tank/half tank full. This is because the juice is being overcooked. 50%-100% vg will give progressively stronger burnt taste as the VG % gets higher. Running a 1.8 or 2.2 ohm coil works on most juices with removing one flavor wick for high VG %. ANything over 20% vg I remove 1 wick. I love my pt minis but I'm pretty sure Kanger tested them using china juice which is usually 100% pg based when they designed them. Stick with 80pg/20vg -100pg in your PTs and you will have virtually no issues and IMO better flavor than high vg juices.

If your drip tip is SS then just get a cheap plastic tip to replace it with and see if that helps. Some people think they taste the SS when actually its the fluid residues from the machining. I always soak any machined metal in alcohol and rinse well in hot water before using them to make sure they are clean of cutting fluid residue.
