I've sampled about 25 flavors and most of them just taste similar to those really cheap no-name lollies or jelly beans with artificial flavors. (dont get me wrong, some flavors are great, others taste quite artificial, for example Strawberry)

A friend at work actually added Rose Oil and other Essences to rolled tobacco and I gave it a try... it was actually not bad!

Then I wandered, instead of using imitation vanilla flavor in e-cigs, why not use proper Vanilla Essence? For menthol lovers, why not use Eucalyptus oil? Rose Essence? Real Coffee! :p

Off course there would be flavor limitations, how would you add actual Cocoa or Banana to e-cig juice lol

Sure the price of the carts/juice would be more, but if it was ~$2 extra, I would pay the difference without hesitation.

"natural" does not automatically equate to "not harmful", especially as chemicals break down under heat.

Many times essential oils will require more or less heat to break down, even if they're not harmful when cooked and inhaled into the lungs.

Many won't dissolve in PG or VG.

There are reasons for "artificial formulations". Some may be doable, but it's going to be pretty darned limited.

I've seen a few e-cig companies that claim their liquid is "all-natural." I'm not quite curious enpugh to try it. One even had an organic line. Needless to say, I highly doubt it.

I even saw a site that called PG an organic substance. Well, maybe chemically, but not if you mean organic as in natural, like they did.

And one retailer only stocks non-nicotine herbal e-liquids. Herbal medicine, not "da kind herb, mon." She even goes so far as to say that her pv's are not suited for use with tobacco or nicotine containing liquids. Of course I doubt they actually contain enough of the listed herbs in a vaporizable form to deliver an effective dose per puff. IIRC, she makes the all natural claims, too.

The only "natural" thing to inhale is air. Lungs are not stomachs, we have only 3 years of anecdotal evidence to indicate that inhaling ecig vapor is safe, and the health rationale is our very reasonable assumption that it must be better than the demonstrably toxic debris that flows from cigarettes.
I'm persuaded, loosely, because after 5 months I feel much better and my lungs have learned how to fill themselves deeply without wheezing, aching and tightening. But who knows re long-term effects? In any case, the lungs only really want oxygen; not any sort of food, organic or not. There's no real correlate here. Though I agree that artificial flavoring is not as nice on the taste-buds, we're basically trying to deliver nicotine here.
And you really don't want to be inhaling oils.
I'm off to do a line of whole-wheat flour, ginger powder and snuff now...
