Was looking for something smaller than the Hana mod, in order to be more discreet in public. And I hated how the atty stuck out like a .... on most mods.

So designed and 3d printed one myself, with a dna 20 from a kind friend. Uses 18650 sized efest 3100 or AW IMR 2200.

Now at least half the atty is hidden in my hand when I vape... Hopefully less visible.

Thanks folks. Have uploaded the schematics to thingiverse for you guys to diy if you want.

Evolv DNA AVP mod found on #Thingiverse http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:565879

I've designed v2 yesterday for a tighter fit and to take slightly bigger batts. External latches are replaced with internal ones and cover is secured with a M2x6 screw now, though you can still use a rubber band if you want easy access. Here's how it looks in my hand.

Will upload v2 schematics soon. With a AW 18650 IMR 2200 and moderate-heavy vaping at 8W it lasts one-half to two days.

If done right when you bring it up to your mouth it looks like you are coughing... Only that vapor comes out after which haha.

Hey kissthefloor, don't worry the 510 is tight as a rock. Had to hammer it into the enclosure and dabbed with CA glue around. Though it'll definitely be sturdier if the case is metal.

Someone asked if this is lefty friendly, here ya go.

Upcoming changes in revision 3:
1. Substitute current 510 connector for a fatdaddyvapes v4 15mm
2. Reducing size even further
3. Curved walls for a more comfortable hold
4. Moving screen to a side wall for vertical space saving (thanks to Ian444)
5. Incorporation of some really small tact switches. (Maybe)
6. Magnets as mechanism to secure cover (2x1 neodymium)
7. Space enough for a usb charger?
8. Refine switches design to be recessed
9. Funky switch design, maybe fire button really looks like a fire icon, and print using glow in the dark filament.

Currently I've put in an order for 140pcs of assorted tact switches to try, but what another ecf member found is actually smaller.

For charging circuit, I'm getting the TP4056 1A charging circuit. Tbh I'm quite resistant to the idea of putting a charge circuit in as 1) it's slow, 2) it adds complexity and 3) one more thing to screw up. Will try though.

Now just waiting for goodies to come in but you know how it's the holiday season and all... V3 probably will only be out in Jan '
15 haha.

Meanwhile, some photo porn. Decided to call it the FreddyMod after my friend who passed me his DNA 20 to make this all possible.

Nice mate, that's awesome! Also very slim. I noticed you use what seems like an FDV 510 connector on thin walls... Any probs with it so far holding?

I got some FDV 510 winging here, just thinking how thick the walls should be to hold it securely.

Interesting idea to have the batt contact the 510 directly. And you spray painted your mod? Wow! What paint did you use?

i didnt spray paint the mod.. comes originally silver (alu) and black for the plastic. For the sec mod, its more direct. The switch is between the 510 and the batt, act as a separator. i coil a copper wire into spring (for the bottom of the batt) and contact it to the cap as earth. So the whole device only have one wire.

PS: thanks for all the love i received.. But i've to apologise.. All you see is not for sale or reproduce for market. Solely personal interest.

My suggestion regarding going stealth..

The Sophia with short body measure 35mm(excluding the 510 connector) and will flush with AW18350.
With tank like SnP, one need not pull up the tank to refill. And the only part that stick out will be the tip.

Forget about the electronics parts and go towards mech. The less cina parts, the less it'll go wrong...

Google "Gizmo" and see what I meant.

Cheers :)

hot damn mate. lol built in tank i think that'll take me a couple of years to get it right.
