Having searched the forum and found nothing regarding people breaking their Nautilus and Nautilus Mini tanks, I'm now assuming the Pyrex glass tank is virtually indestructible?

I ask because only two weeks into vaping I find myself sitting at the bar with my mini on the counter (on an iStick 20w), with two spare and loaded mini's in my jeans pocket.

One shattering in my jeans would quickly bring the evening to a close.

How have fellow Nautilus users faired with the Pyrex tank?

I got the mesh replacement tank as it looked a little more protected but sill able to see the juice level. :)

Yes I've seen the full steel tank, but don't like it, partly for form factor, partly because you can't see your levels. I've purchased a perforated or partial steel tank, for this reason, but not used it as I still prefer the full Pyrex.

Just wanted to hear if anyone had experienced shattered Pyrex pockets, by the lack of response I'm still thinking the Pyrex is fairly solid.

Yep. I have a mini and a full sized. My mini tank cracked below the top threads while I sat down with it in my pocket one day and the full sized cracked in my pocket earlier on, though I'm not quite sure how. The glass bells stick out from the diameter of the base slightly and quite a bit from the top cap. It makes them targets for breakage. Not one single issue since I got hollowed out tanks.

Nothing is unbreakable. I passed on the tank covers I saw because of the striking resemblance to, well, wedding tackle...

I had a brand new Mini glass tank crack on me. It was a brand new tank right out of the box. I went to unscrew the bottom hardware and the glass cracked right under the top cap. Got the bottom hardware off and when I tried to unscrew the cracked glass from the top cap, the glass broke into several pieces, leaving the neck of the glass stuck to the top cap. Had to slowly scrape out pieces of glass from the top cap. Replaced it with the metal and glass replacement tank.

You're being a literal bunch this evening. I didn't really suggest Pyrex as a possible successor to carbon nano-tubes as indestructible, but merely wanted to know the chances of a tank busting in my jeans pocket. Case studies welcome. :)

Do you know where I can get some carbon nano-tube tanks? :p

In my experience you'll bend the chimney tube which results in stripping the threads on your coil head before you break the glass. Yes, I've had that happen to me with my full sized Nautilus by having it on my mod stuffed in my pocket while doing lawnwork. Bent over a few times, then took my mod out and notice the Nautilus was crooked. Bent it back to straight, turned it over, and unscrewed the tank from the coil and saw the coil threads had been damaged. The threads on the chimney were still fine though. Screwed it back together and continued to use it without any problems.

If you put the tank in your pocket while full and the tank and liquid is cold it can leak as it heats up though. That's true of any tank that uses air pressure to maintain a seal. Heat causes expansion and the increase in pressure has to be let out somewhere, so it either goes out the chimney or air hole, taking any liquid in the way with it.
