Had my mini nautilus just a week. Had a few problems with not much vapour and gurgling but seem to be getting ok with it after advice on this forum. Thanks guys. I always tend to vape menthol or fruit flavours which are light in colour. Today I wanted to try something different so tried a dark caramel juice. The taste was disgusting. Just tasted really burnt. I stuck with it all day thinking the flavouring my come through. By the end of the day the taste was so burnt I thought my coil must be burnt out. I tipped the juice out of the tank and thought I would just try putting some of my normal juice in. Some blackjack. The taste was amazing again so not the coil. Was wondering do these nautilus not like the dark juices? Think I may have read some where there not good with coils. ??

I have no experience with the new BVC's and limited experience with the BDC's (I've only run light colored juice through them). I rebuild my Kanger coils so all my darker, more complex flavors I run in either my Aerotanks or my RTA/RDA's. Have not tried rebuilding the Aspire coils.
Are both you eliquids the same as far as percentage of PG/VG?

Yes all my liquids are 50/50. That's the first time I've tried a dark juice. Thank you for your reply
So you ran dark juice through your coil all day, then rinsed the tank out (and rinsed the coil?). Then put your lighter colored juice back in the tank, reinstalled the same coil, and it vaped great?
Yes. Never used dark juice before. Just wondered if they don't run well with the darker juice and if anyone else had had this problem
I didn't even rinse the coil just emptied it out and put my normal lighter juice in a few puffs were burnt tasting but now it's fine.

I an running a dark juice in my aspire nautilus now (Funky Monkey 75 % and Strawberry 25 %) it is quite dark.
And I have no problems with burnt taste. I also have ran Johnson creek Tennessee cured and have had no problems with that either.
Hope to find out you issue. I have had a coil start to short out and get that burnt taste. But I was never able to use the coil again.

rebuilding a kanger coils? i thought it is safer to purchase them off the shelf and it is cheap too.
Have you tried the darker juice in any other tank or clearo? It may be the juice not the Nautilus. What power source are you using is it VV/VW? Could be the juice doesn't do well on high Temps from too much power to the coil? I have some flavors that are great at 6w and 3.4 V but are nasty at higher inputs.
Just using a standard inno 650 mah battery which works great with all my other juices.
Dark liquids can gunk up a coil faster than light ones.
Blakey on AAEC says Vanilla Custard kills his BVCs in 3 days, but I'm sure he vapes at higher power than you will.
If you put your old liquid back in and it came good in a while, maybe it was just bad juice.

so this one is interesting and I'm sure someone has experienced it. I just ordered a nautilus tank myself and I'm waiting for it to arrive so I'm trying to see if there is anything I can learn about it - dos and don'ts sort of thing. That said, I'm using an IClear 30 right now. The juice I'm using is a mix of two premade flavors and they begin clear but after vaping a while they develop a dark color - reddish brown. They're both 50/50 mix a grape and one called pixie. I'm running an x6 on the second setting 3.8v

I was thinking about getting a mini nautilus today. My local shop had them for $40 though. I thought that was a little steep. So I passed for the time being because with that much money I could get an eLeaf iStick which I'm debating on. It's either that or the MVP. But I hear good things about the nautilus mini.

Don't try to rinse the coils once they get watered down they are never the same just change flavors and it will switchover after 10 or so pulls unless it's a strong lingering flavor then you need to just replace coil
