Nautilus Mini + iStick, finding my sweet spot

Ok guys, after many failed attempts and much lost juice, I finally put one of my Nautilus Mini's back togerther in a way that it's not leaking, gurgling, or spitting juice into my mouth. Now I'm trying to figure out my optimal settings. Is anyone else using this combo and can you tell me what settings you're using?

Right now I've got it at 9W on the 2nd largest air hole and it's a bit rowdy for me. I'm afraid to turn it down much or move to a tighter air hole because that's when it tends to start flooding on me.

I bought 4 of these tanks and at $40 a pop I am determined to win this battle :p

The istick is calibrated so that, if it says it's putting out 3 volts, it's really putting out slightly more than 4. (Watch Phil Busardo's review for the details; it used Vavg, not Vrms like almost every other device, and Vavg < Vrms).

So I wouldn't be afraid to turn the thing down. It's hard to say what 9 watts corresponds to, but the setting of 3 volts on the istick should put out about 4, and the coil should be seeing about 9 watts. As it stands, if it says 9 watts, it's probably closer to 12 or 13 watts on any other device.

I've never use the nautilus so I can't help there, but I wouldn't be afraid to turn that bad boy down. :2c:

I'm just afraid to flood it at a lower wattage, I've had nothing but flooding for 2 days... ugh this thing.

I run a nautilus and a nautilus mini on an ipv2 on the biggest air hole and I run between 18 and 28watts.
Personal preference all the way.

Ok that's pretty hardcore. I would likely asphyxiate :D

Changing the air hole or adjusting the wattage should not cause flooding. One thing to check is how hard you are drawing. Not to put this too delicately, but if you suck too hard you can pull too much juice into the coil unit - more than the coil can process - and this can cause flooding. Just inhale very lightly - let the coil do all the work. Smaller air holes will entice you to draw harder, as will lower power.

Those BVC units are good to 25 watts without burning, in my experience, so don't worry about damaging them with power. Reduction of nic level (I know, I know... you just got a boatload of juice) also helps with the rowdiness.

I think it was established in a previous thread I am an overzealous sucker  Ok, I will keep trying... practice makes perfect right? :p

I run my istick/nautilus mini anywhere from 8-10.5 watts. I prefer it at about 9.5. I use the 3rd airhole. The largest is just too much air for me, but I find that I need it if I go up over 9.5 watts. If not, the vapor is too hot for me.

Istick. Largest hole. 8.7watts. 2.0 ohms. 4.1 volts. 65%vg 35%pg 6mg nic. Mt baker strawberry.

Was 9.5 watts on vv3, but we know there is a voltage difference. Rms vs mean.

Istick + mini nautilus is best setup I have found.
My nautilus gurgled and sucked in general. Ignored it for months. Used it when my regular setup died at work. No problem since. Can't explain it, but it's great now.

I have 3 of them. I can put it in the smallest hole and suck hard enough to pop out my eyeballs, without it flooding. On my Provari I run the mini at 4.6 - 4.8 volts.

My settings on the Istick - 1.9 Ω, 4.0 volts (I'm guessing around 12 watts RMS), on the 3rd air hole, 50% PG/VG

Here is a little chart I made based on PBusardo's scope.

I'm lovin this combination! I'm close to Pokemom as well, 9 watts, 1.8 BVC coil, 2nd or 3rd airhole, maybe 80/20 vg/pg. no leaks gurgling flooding ect. Just a great vape and flavor! Are u using the BVC coils?! When I first got the reg Nautilus with the notorius BDC coils I quit using it. Hated it. Then tried the new BVC coils. WOW! soo.. much better. You want to tighten the coil good and just snug the tank. Good luck! :2cool:

edit: I misread ur original post. thought u had gurgling ect.
