hey guys,

after about a week of having the (authentic) nautilus i've started to get a metallic taste and realised it may well be to do with the spring beneath the nautilus coil, which seems to be getting rusty. i've managed to wipe off some with rubbing alcohol on a q-tip, but i don't want this part to corrode and have to buy a whole new $35 clearo!

any tips for this issue? or, any tips and tricks on the nautilus + maintenance in general?

ALSO: so far i've gone through four coils in a week - any tips on preserving, resurrecting or minimising coil replacement time?
i'm not using high VG or particularly dark juices.

thanks!

Are you sure it's authentic? I have five Nautilus', have been using them for a couple of months and never had rust.

As far as 4 coils in a week, maybe it's your juice or you are turning your device to high. I rarely go above 3.7 volts. I get about 30mls through a coil and toss it.

Good luck...

Light juices can do it too if they are particularly sweet and/or use a specific sweetener. Does the liquid darken considerably as you get to the bottom of a tankful? If so it is the sugars cooking and gunking your coil. Decrease how fast you burn them out by rinsing with hot water between fills and when they start to lose performance soak them overnight in PGA (pure grain alcohol).

Dark and/or sweet (with certain sweeteners) are the worst coil offenders.
