This is more of a self congratulatory slap on the back for me. But I'm just shy of a month of not smoking normal cigs. I started with cig-a-likes which were okay, and then jumped into buying juice with a slightly different looking evod starter kit. Here is what I've noticed in myself:

1) I can breath more easily. I don't get out of great as easily and I feel more healthy.
2) I'm less stressed. When I got to the last 10 I'd be worrying about running out. To my shame I have driven after a few beers (probably over the limit) to sort this out.
3) I don't smell as much as I did.
4) I'm richer - even after buying all my stuff I've saved loads.
5) I'm starting to not miss cigarettes at all. I'm now at the point where I could have a packet in my pocket and not use them.
6) I'm starting to smell so much more - cigarettes hit my the hardest. I can smell them before I can see them.
7) Food tastes different. I've always loved spicy food and still do, but I can taste different stuff now.
8) I don't care what people think about my evod anymore, I will happily walk up the street with it the same way I would a cig.

So overall it's worked for me. People say they aren't a quitting smoking device. But I don't agree. If they stop you smoking and transfer it to something less harmful thats only a good thing. As things stand I've no plans to cut down or stop using e-cigs.

40-60 a day. One day I woke up early and didn't want to smoke any more, so I went and brought a e-cig. Not had a normal cig since.

Your experience was similar to mine, only I was at work and it struck me that I wanted to quit. I ordered two ego style batteries and progressed rapidly to something more advanced. I'm coming up on a month in less than a week and just wanted to say congratulations to you because a month is a long time and you're doing really well.

Yes. But only for a few days. ... it was pretty rubbish. But better than nothing.

I used a brand that claims to be the "UK's favourite e-cig". It was completely useless... and stupidly expensive.

I thought there was something wrong with me until I wondered if it was actually the product. I had terrible cravings, insanely bad moods and almost lost my job/family. The worst 2 months of my life.

I will never forgive them. Tens of thousands of smokers have tried them and now think e-cigs are a waste of time.

I tried too, back in 2007, using a cgi-a-like from one of those stands in the mall. It was just cool, didn't help at all and it was expensive! It cost more than the mod and all the accessories I've ordered. I'm giving it another chance. Based upon testimonials, I think this will work for me.

If it can "work" for me it can for you mate. For periods of up to 7 months I was getting through 100 cancer sticks a day. Infact when I was stuck in a fob I would not need to use a lighter as when one went out I'd light the other with it. I'd tried gums, patches and even hypnotherapy. All were rubbish for me.

A decent e-cig works wonders. I alternate between 24-36mg juice. However even for me the 36mg stuff is too strong. If I chain cape that I start to get a bit light headed and put it down for half an hour.

Sort of agree - I got my e-cig that is names like the sky colour and most peoples tv supplier. It was okay... Just okay. When I topped it up with stronger juice it was still okay. That batteries were it's biggest bad point. That and the fact that it didn't really give you the hit.

E-cigs with tanks are the way to go. Pick your own flavour, pick your own taste. Once the NHS start giving them away (as they should!) then it will take off. Billions is spent treating lung cancer and economy is being damaged with people taking time off. But I feel time will change. I've already converted around a dozen people.

6) I'm starting to smell so much more

No - you're starting to smell so many more things - you'll smell a lot less. ;) I was a heavy pipesmoker and boy did I stink back in the day!

But otherwise I agree with all you say. Congratulations - it's brilliant when vaping gives you a fresh start and a spring in your step. :)

Your story makes me excited to start and very happy for you.

100 cigs a day!? Wow! Wow in the sense that cigs cost about $14 a pack in the NYC area.

Luckily/unluckily depending on how you look at it, I am in the Army so we got duty free (no tax cigarette) when we are based away from home. And usually have a friend who is come back from somewhere to bring them for you. So usually a packet would cost about $3.50ish in your money. However in the UK it costs me about £8 so around $12 a pack - so I've saved a lot.

Just try it mate. I can only give my own experience, but you are still getting the drug nicotine without the bad stuff. My family are delighted I don't smoke any more.

Sammy, welcome and congratulations!

Some folks have been blessed to find the right combination relatively quickly. Djsvapour - I'm sorry to hear of the hell you went through, but I've noticed many of your posts recently, and it seems like you're on the upswing now :)

I love this forum for all the moral and technological support it provides. Plus, it's quite cool to see how others around the world are making this journey.

Cheers!

Good for you!! That's a great accomplishment and you sure should be proud of yourself!

I quit the cigarettes 26 days ago and I'll never go back either. For MANY of the same reasons you listed. And I'm LOVING the flavors of the juices from so many vendors! I haven't saved a dime yet. Lol. But I'm loving vaping! This is the first time in my life I haven't gained weight when I've quit smoking. Lol. I actually have LOST 4 pounds. :). My husband says it's the different juices that taste so good I'm eating LESS. Hehehe. Nice bonus for me. ;)
