Need a couple recommendations on passthru

I've been using a cheap China-made DSE901 passthru, and it randomly today started heating up REALLY hot and had like a burning paint smell almost... the light wasn't on and the button wasn't stuck down. It seems like it works alright now, but I can tell this thing is falling apart.

My friend who bought the same one, his cord is loose and only works half of the time. I'm a little sick of the cheap construction that goes bad after a month but I don't have a whole lot of money...

I pretty much exclusively use my USB passthru though I do have a battery that doesn't see much use.

Can anyone recommend a vendor and a model? I have been curious about the Joye-510, and I prefer manual switches.

I have a 510 and a 901. I prefer my 510, for me I find I get a decent amount of vapor and throat hit.

I have tried a few different vendors however I have done more business recently with vaporkings than any of the others.

Whichever is better. I haven't found a wall-to-usb converter that works yet, only thing that these 901 ones work on is my PC...

There are plenty of USB-AC converters that work, you have to get the 1amp at a minimum, dont risk plugging into your puter your risking frying your circut board, agreed with the Col Gaunt, do you want 3.7 or 5v

I suggest the VP-PT. I have had mine for several months, it is well built and I use mine 5 days a week all day at work. I really love it for its consistency, it has never disappointed.

It is an 801 so if you want to use it with something else you will need an adapter.

Rob, at vaporkings.com also has some nice car adapters and USB-AC units that he speced out just for this reason.!!

I was trying to avoid spending $80, can you guys recommend anything cheaper that is a good bang for the buck but probably in the $20-30 price range?

It has the rubber end which is important to me because my passthrough that just died on me was torn right past the grey 'ash' plastic.

Are you using their "cartomizers" (Whatever those are) or are you using some kind of adapter or what? I'm confused, I really only know stuff by model numbers (DSE901/801 JOYE-510 etc) unless this is their like own model or something.

Actually I use vapor4life premium cartomizers, they taste the best! If you want to use other atomizers you will need to buy adapters.

I've taken a liking to My Vapor Store's menthol liquid, and I have a bunch that would go to waste...

But it sounds like the VK cartomizers are disposable, once they're empty?

I think I actually like my DSE901 passthru's but has anyone seen a mod that gives the cord some support? It get's bent and tears within a month and I think that has been the cause of my problems.

I may just buy another cheap $15 PT and try to take some electrical tape to it.

No, you can refill the cartomizers. There are several methods to do this.

I use a 510 5volt from Mad Vapes with a 901 adapter and kr808d-1 cartos. I started with the regular volt one with the battery but it didn't hold a candle to the 5 volt. By the way both are the same price at Mad Vapes, the 5 volt and the regular.
