I started out with MyFreedomSmokes' "Virginia" which has throat hit that beat the hell out of my cigarettes' throat hit, even at 6mg. It's very good, tastes remarkably like Virginia Slims, which were my poison of choice for 30+ yrs. They have a lot of other tobacco flavors too, if virginia isn't to your liking -- their non-VG mixes are 85% PG, which probably accounts for the excellent throat hit even at low nicotine levels.

Yes in order to increase throat hit, I do agree with a stronger pg percentage in a liquid but it is really the nicotine that attributes to the most throat hit IMO. I have been very pleased with Vaping Zone super concentrated and gourmet flavors. A bit more costly than others but keep in mind that they are highly concentrated flavorings and you use so much less than other flavorings in a recipe. I also like throat hit and menthol and I mix Menthol crystals and Everclear at 50/50 and will add a drop or two to my 6ml bottle. I have also added drops of Vanilla and Peach flavored Vodka. Only drops, I don't have a drinking problem. heehee DIY involves experimentation but well worth the effort because it is nice when your taste buds begin to dance.

One other thing I thought of, because I also like good TH even though I'm moving to sweet vapes rather than tobacco -- there's a flavor additive you can get, called "Flash" -- the only place I know for sure that has it is ecigexpress.com. It's not expensive, and I add a bit of it to sweet vapes like baked goods flavors; it's not a huge difference, but it does give just a bit more "throat tingle" even to pre-made ejuice that has virtually no TH at all.

Also -- no idea what hardware you use, but when I got a Kayfun, I found that the throat hit it offers is very intense; I even had to back down from my 85% PG, to 80% PG, just so I didn't start coughing with every hit. Since you make your own coils with a kayfun, you can mount the coil high, and the TH is amazing -- also the flavor, very clear and intense flavor with a kayfun, but the TH thing was very noticeable right from my first hit.

I totally agree with what everyone has said about throat hit. Some flavors are more throaty than others. I just made a cinnamon red hots flavor and dang does that hit the throat. I've noticed ethanol (ethyl alcohol) based flavors tend to give a good/strong throat hit. Cool to hear that you noticed the same thing rat2chat2. Sometimes temperature also effects the throat hit. Granted you're never going to get the burning the cillia in your lungs hot like from a cigarette from an ecigarette(thankfully), but a slightly higher temperature vape makes it more noticeable for me.
