I've had this REO since May of 2010, I'm almost to three years, and this thing is still just trucking along... I've got a buddy with a newer, more complicated mod, and mine still works better and longer, and I think produces more vapor. I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Anyway, I had some questions about rebuildable atomizers... Mainly, is there one that will fit on my REO, and how do they work as compared to the smoketek LR 510s that Robert sells? It seems like over the long run a rebuildable atty will be even cheaper, but does it work comparatively? I can see from the posts here that it's not too complicated to wind the coil and insert it, but I'm not even sure it'll fit in my mod. Also, because I have one of the originals, it's not variable voltage. Does that mean I should just stick with traditional attys?

Also, has anyone found a good way to resecure the feed tube on these guys once they inevitably come loose?

Thanks,
Bill

Nice to read your post knowing that you have had a REO for so long!

You can put a dab of super glue to hold the tubing in place. Also I should mention you can buy a cap and tubing kit on site if you want to replace them.

The drip well on the Grand should allow most bottom fed RBA's. If you have a Original Wood or Woodvil some will not fit. See this thread:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/377836-reo-compatible-rbas.html

A REO does not have to be VV to achieve great vapor and flavor with a RBA. I use them on almost all styles of REO's.

You build your coil to the ohms that you like. So going with a lower ohm coil will give you a more powerful hit.

I am hearing quite a lot that if you try an RBA you will not want to go back to an atty or cartos. I have to agree the RBA performs better.

+1 what ^^^^Nerak said. And there's a pretty strong consensus on this board that RBAs blow standard attys out of the water. I have gone 100% RBA and wouldn't ever go back. What REO do you have? A Grand? If you have a metal Grand, any of the bottom-feeder rebuildables will fit; if you have a metal Mini, only the Hornet will fit. If you have a Woodvil, it's "iffy" about what will fit. I think a Hornet would fit any REO....but I'm not positive about the really early Woodvils.

Ok... I've got another question. My REO has a native 801 connector on it, and then I have a 801-510 adaptor on it. Given that the adaptor clears the catch cup, does that mean pretty much any RBA should work for me? It's impossible for me to have a clearance issue with the catch cup.

So, I guess the question is, are these RBAs capable of interfacing with an adaptor? I have no idea why they wouldn't be, but I figured I should ask before I plunk down $75 on a Hornet and end up upset.

With the adapter you should be good with any RBA I'm pretty certain. And yes RBA's are much better than any premade atty Ive tried.
pretty sure the hornet will fit any Reo catch cup it was designed to fit the mini. Although you will still need the adapter obviously. So not an issue for you.

I have used the 801/510 adapter on my Original Wood REO's with a A7 and a Reomizer. It makes for a tall setup! But works just fine!

As Rob put it on a previous thread:

Regular atty = Ford Pinto
RBA = Cadillac !!

I say go for the Hornet- nice & compact, well made, fits everything since you have an adaptor you're good to go!

This sounds better:

Regular atty / carto = Ferrari road car
RBA = Ferrari formula 1 car.

There's little you can do to a REO that would make it perform as bad as a Pinto!

Hello Bill I just realized who you are great to see you on the forum :) Still running your original reo I love that

Haha, I was on the forums a lot for a few months. Then I ended up not needing to really log on as much for a few years there because I had everything set up perfect for me. I ended up back on here this weekend because I was going to order another batch of those cheap 510s from you, and saw "rebuildable atty" and figured I better look into it.
