Hi

I am fairly new to vaping. I got myself a couple of months ago a Ego-T but is not hitting the spot anymore. I believe I outgrown it. So I want to get one of the mechanical type. I've been looking at options and can't make my mind which one to get. Right now I don't know about functionality but I'm reading and viewing them aestetically.

I don't have the resources to get originals so I'm going to get a clone. Please tell me any info you have on the ones I'm going to mention or if you have any suggestion I'm open to it.

Mods
Magneto Smoketek
Two tone King
Nemesis

Atomizer
hcigar Aqua
kayfun 3.1

What's the best combinations I could get from these, or if you have suggestions please tell me. I have about $100usd to spend.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions and opinions!

Nothing wrong with clones at all IMO.

The Nemesis and or the Magneto ( they both are good to start up with )

I prefer the Kayfuns, but if I where you I would get both and see which you like more.

This is a good site for some clones: Clickable

Remember to do your homework on batteries and ohms law if you're going the mech and rebuildable route. There is loads of info here, put it to good use bud.

Really can't go wrong with a Nemesis. Or any of those clones as a matter of fact. Personally I like the Nemesis of the 3 in terms of aesthetics.

There's a big difference in tank size between the Aqua and KF 3.1. 1.8ml vs 4.5ml so really depends on your vape style and preference.

Do you have an ohm meter/multimeter? Do you have batteries already or do you need to purchase some?

Hope you find what you're looking for. :)

Thanks for your input!

I don't have batteries but have read that the Sony VCT5 are the ones to use.

I don't have a ohm meter, where can I get one?

I think I will go with the MAGNETO with the AQUA. I have been reading the Kayfun and it's kinda complicated, am I right?

Welcome Makuto :)

I have 3 different kayfun (clones). They're not too bad - I just have to make sure my bifocals are pointing at the right spot so I can see better ;)

PLEASE make sure you look for threads about battery safety and know about your Ohms, Watts, Volts and Amps before you get too deep. You can find an ohm meter on Fasttech's site (don't know how good it is, but I think a number of folks have ordered from there. You might want to consider a DMM (Digital Multi-Meter) that you can use to test both ohms and volts (to measure your batteries.)

Happy hunting!

This little instrument is inexpensive and very versatile to measure both ohm resistance and battery voltage:

There is much more to using a mechanical mod than just throwing any battery into it and firing the button. Choosing the appropriate battery for the applications that you'll be using it for and using a quality charger for it is extremely important. The battery is the most important purchase that you will make for your vaping setup.

Battery Basics for Mods: IMR or Protected ICR?

It's a big jump from an ego battery setup to a mechanical mod with an RBA. A mechanical mod/RBA setup is not forgiving to any mistakes or user error and can be potentially danderous to yourself and others if you don't know what you are doing.

I too am outgrowing my eGo battery, but I'll be upgrading to a regulated APV. Is there any reason why you've decided manual over something regulated like an MVP2, Vamo, or Zmax? Those three are all within your price range, especially the MVP2, as it doesn't require the investment in nice batteries and a decent charger.

You can't go sub-ohming with a regulated device like that, but I personally don't feel up to a mechanical device. It's my understanding that you do want to be very observant with batteries; not under-charged, and in some circumstances, not fully charged. I'm no expert, but that's another reason why I'm sticking with regulated for now!

Thanks for the info. I've been the safety guides Baditude posted and I think to start I'm better off with a VV so the Vamo V5 it is. Then in the future will get the full mechanicals.

Will this work fine?
Vamo V5 + Kayfun 3.1

And also... What batteries to get? The Sony VCT5 High Drain 30A or Purple Efest IMR 35A

And finally.. I see that on eBay the batteries do not come with a charger, which charger to get?

And thank you a lot to all of you.. You've really helped me!

I think I'm jealous! Realize that with the Kayfun, you'll need to be rebuilding the wicks and coils. You can get usable organic cotton locally anywhere beauty supplies are sold, although many will recommend rayon/cellucotton. You'll definitely need some resistance wire, likely Kanthal, and probably 28, 30, and/or 32 guage. Larger guage = smaller diameter, offering lower heat-up times and lower resistance.

Unless you're set on the wire/wick, I think the Rebuildable Atomizer/Coil Building forums have way more information, as well as Youtube videos of Kayfun builds.

That all looks very nice. You should be happy with the new gear.
IMHO, I would almost suggest to get a tank that has replaceable atomizers as well as a backup and it will let you ease into the coil building bit. Something like a Nautilus or one of the Kanger tanks. That way if you are in a hurry or just don't feel like re-coiling / re-wicking you can just pop in a new atomizer and be good to go. You can also rebuild these atomizers as well so there would not be any waste of money. Just a suggestion since swapping out atomizers is way easier than rebuilding.

Oh. I didn't know that. I also don't know how to rebuild coils and such, I was planning on going to a vapers club we have here where they show you how to do all of that, so I am going to include the Nautilus Genuine with 2 replacement coils. Thanks for the info!

That's some awesome vape mail coming to ya soon! Good luck on quitting the cigs. I thought I would smoke for the rest of my life due to other failures at quitting. It only took me 3 days to come off the analogs completely and haven't looked back.

Have you already placed the order? I found a Nitecore 4-bay charger on amazon for few bucks more than the 2-bay you are looking at.

Finally placed the order..

Vamo V5 + Kayfun 3.1 + Efest Batteries (button tops because those are the ones that work with the Vamo) + Kanger Protank 3 + Nitecore 4Bay from Amazon.. Thanks Elee86 !

The only downside is I live in the Dominican Republic so its going to take longer. But I will eagerly wait and upload pics when it gets here.

Thanks to all!
