need a little help!!

ok,so heres my story....a friend of mine introduced me to vaping about a year ago...i bought a double kit from fasttech and lets just say not knowing anything was really strenuous...no idea about any of it whatsoever.my friend was little help and the local vape shop was even worse (basically the guy acted as if a customer asking honest questions was a waste of his time)....so being completely discouraged and getting a bad deal on bad juice made things a lot worse so i gave it up...recently i decided to give it another try and another friend suggested that i purchase a Kanger Protank 2 rather than the atomizers that i initially had.so i did,and i was using the 900 mAh variable voltage batteries that i had.worked great the first day and a half until i bought a different juice...long story short, the guy at the shop (not the same shop i mentioned earlier) tells me my battery isnt strong enough for continuous use with the protank,so i bought a fixed 3.7 volt 2600 mAh generic battery, and a few people told me before it even came in the mail that it wasnt a good idea to use it on the protank....can anyone sense my frustration here? also i am learning how to rebuild coils with kanthal and organic cotton to save money obviously.so i have a couple questions to ask that i hope can be answered easily and hopefully i dont sound like an idiot lol.basically my protank is going to be my main setup.betwen the batteries and rebuilding i would like to know what is the best watt/voltage/ohm/mAh combination for the best vaping experience...ive been told i should go with an eGo twist or a Vision spinner 2....but not knowing anything about wattage, ohmage,mAh and voltage is literally driving me insane....i just need a shove in the right direction, andany help would be greatly appreciated.
sorry for the long post, but with my limited knowledge this was the best way to explain my predicament...

Hello and welcome to the forum Artimus. Glad to have you here!:)

Variable v/w (twist/spinner) is usually recommended over a "non variable v/w" battery. It allows you to adjust your settings to get a better "vape". Some flavors taste better at higher voltages than 3.7v. Here are some possible options for you to consider:

1. JoyeTech Ego-C Twist
2. Vision Spinner
3. Innokin iTaste vv v3
4. Innokin iTaste MVP v2

The first 3 are fall into the "ego style" category of battery (with variable voltage). They range in size from 600mah to 1300mah. The higher the mah the longer the battery will last between charging. The 4th one is a step up from an "ego style" battery in that it is a smaller variable v/w box mod with a very big battery (2600mah). It will last many vapers a whole day before it needs recharging. It is probably one of the most popular batteries for someone upgrading from an "ego style" battery.

I suggest buying only name brand Joyetech Twist or Vision Spinner ego batteries. BTW, "ego" is merely a type of battery, not a brand name. Buying "generic" ego batteries is always going to be hit or miss...mostly miss.

You will need to purchase a tank with the first three on the above list (if you don't already have one). The mini Nautillus, mini Aerotank or regular size Aerotank (all made of glass & all have adjustable airflow control) are very popular. The MVP Kit comes with a tank but it is not glass.

I have used both the mini Protank & the Protank v2 and have added the Aerotank Base to them when Kanger first came out with the Aerotanks. I also have the Nautilus and have purchased the new BVC's (bottom vertical coils). They both work well, but the Nautilus does give better flavor over the "stock coils" that my Protanks use. However I do "rebuild and re-wick" all my single Kanger coils when they no longer work. That does help in the flavor department.

thank you susan,is this what you are talking about when you say "aerotank base"? and i understand mAh now,i guess just watts and ohms i have to learn lol $_1.JPG

Susan did a thorough job of answering your questions. She usually does (bless you Susan). I will go ahead and add a couple pieces of opinion. The Vision Spinner 2 should be a good match for your Protank 2. The mini Nautilus is another tank with good reviews. And speaking from my own experience...once you get the hang of rebuilding you'll forget about Kangers and Nautilus'. Once I started using mods and RBAs I forgot about all my old ego stuff. Tossed most of it in the trash in fact. Kept two VS2s and a CE5-S for "emergencies". Use them about once a month now. :2c:

Yes, but the one you posted is the original "aerotank base". The new improved one can be found if you click on the highlighted link in my first post. It looks like this.

Aerotank Base.jpg

Ohm is the resistance rating of a wire coil. The lower the number, the less resistance to the flow of electrons through the coil and the hotter the coil will become. The higher the number, the more resistance to the flow of electrons through the coil and the coil will not become as hot.

Some people prefer a warmer vapor, some prefer a cooler vapor. Lower ohm factory-made coils will use slightly more energy from a battery, higher ohms less energy. Higher ohm coils will have a wider range of voltage that can be used than a lower resistance coil will.

Sub-ohm coils in an RBA take the above to the extreme, as the lower you go in ohm, the amperage required from the battery increases exponentially.

Hmmm.

I'm hoping whatever it was you bought - 3.7 volt 2600mAh generic battery will fit with your protank; although I wonder if what you bought was an 18650 battery? 2600 sounds like the mvp;

as for the different juice, I guess that's part of the problem - get back to the first juice; finding a juice you can vape with is every new vapers FIRST problem; if possible ask for unflavored; if you can't get by with the unflavored, it probably wont matter much what flavor that vendor sells you.
(I actually vape alot of unflavored and add an occassional drop or two at a time of flavored juice)

oh - and to save money; you can rewick the coils quite a few times with cotton before the time comes for recoiling; and if you need to save by recoiling then its best to get an rda.

cheapest way to vape is
rda
mech
kick
30 gauge kanthal
cotton
PG
and a dc adapter for those at home sitdown vapetimes
battery for mobile
